Theres a scientific article thats been published that has dicovered that plants have extremely sensitive Pain receptors.
The thing is they don't die as quick as an animal. They feel pain when they're pulled out the ground, when they're cooked, when they're chopped up and when they're eaten...so it seems much more "Humane" to eat meat.

I'll try to find it and bring up a link.

I'm a vegetarian and this is my choice, you eat meat and that is your choice. End of. I have no problem with people because they eat meat, just as I have no problem with people who take drugs, it's about choice, we all have the freedom to choose what is right for ourselves and by complaining about these free choices you only imply that you are trying to force or bully your opinions on to others.
Of course, you are more than entitled to your opinions, however, asking about other peoples opinions rather than slating them is the way I would suggest you go forward. That way we can all reach our own informed opinions for ourselves.

I'm a ovo-pescetarian (get a lot of 'whats' from people for that one), but basically, I eat eggs, very minor amounts of dairy (lactose intolerance), fish, and vegetables/fruit.

It helps me keep my weight down, and overall, I feel a fair amount more healthy than I used to. I try as much as I can to avoid preaching or getting into arguments about it. Mostly, I get a lot people trying to convert me to steak/chicken/etc... My husband loves his meat, and I have no problem cooking him his steak or sausage or whatever.

So I gotta ask: why are some many meat eaters so fucking obnoxious because someone else likes something else? It seems like a gay/straight kind of thing, everyone bitches about 'pride', but in reality it's the straight people with the largest base of discrimation/jokes. The mono-theistic heaven or saviour mentality is welcome to go fuck itself, as far as I'm concerned.

which reminds me: one day on my way home from somewhere, a small group of vegetarian activists handed me a pamphlet while i was waiting for my bus.. i was holding a pita bread with shawarma (chicken meat) in it... their pamphlet was focused on chickens anyways, in lieu of the bus arriving, i started asking them questions and stuff, their reasoning was mostly focused on animal cruelty; i don't remember the argument itself but anyways, by the time the bus arrived, the main guy i was arguing with tore his activist jacket thingy and went to get some shawarma
