you can't be serious...
Avalon LA, Circus, Spundea, Avalon Boston, Crobar, EVEN Guvernment...
These venues have international DJ's every weekend...
Please don't try to convince me that STEREO is booking more names than almost any other club in North America.
STEREO is booking big names in Montreal... but it's still nothing compared to the rest of North America...
STEREO is expanding it's pull in the market which gives them the ability to book multiple dates and GREATLY increases the chance of us seeing even better DJ'S! I'm not saying they aren't bringing in great talent now, they are, I'm just saying that it'll mean even BIGGER names for STEREO in Montreal, Sonic in T.O and STEREO in NYC.

Avalon Boston's bookings are fairly weak. Circus has international Djs twice a month maybe. The only clubs in NY that have serious bookings every weekend are Crobar NYC and Pacha NYC. Cielo and Sullivan Room have occasional international bookings but feature more local talent. Honestly, NYC is suffering right now and I would say Stereo is pulling their weight with respect to the NYC clubs. I haven't been to NYC clubs but this is the respectable opinion of a few people I know living in NY. NYC clubs are getting shut down by 4 am for about anything the cops can think of. The clubs also have undercover police, namely 21 year old girls, asking patrons for drugs, including marijuana, who then get escorted by management to the police officers waiting at the club entrance where a citation is then issued.
Honestly, if you take a look at Florida's event listing, you'll see there are more clubs in Florida than in NYC (http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...12&pagenumber=1) and close to the same number of major bookings as in NYC (http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...threadid=236765), even though Florida's population is less than that of the NYC metro area. Because there are so many venues, each venue generally doesn't book big talent every weekend, expect for maybe space miami.
So the conclusion to make from all of this, when you take a look at the two big metro areas known for EDM in the U.S., only Pacha and Crobar really book more big talent than Stereo. I would say that Stereo beats the rest in terms of booking since a) the Florida market is diluted with so many venues and b) Pacha and Crobar take most of the international bookings in NYC, leaving the few remaining clubs (Cielo, Sullivan room) to feature local talent and occassionally a big name.
Angel will have to realize that you can't run a club in NYC like it is run in Montreal. There is intense competition in a declining market. This isn't a venture I would pursue. He will have to cooperate closely with the city, the police, and understand his market well if he is going to see any return on his investment.
