Actually, those swallow birds are probably the most popular thing tattooed on anyone (to this day). In fact, 'old school tattoos' (pinup girls, swallows, stars, ships, thick black outlined designs, etc...) is probably the most popular style of tattoo work. Go ask anyone who knows their tattoo artists and are really into the tattoo lifestyle- they'll agree.

Anchors.... not so much. Those were definitely more popular when WWI & WWII were happening, with everyone enlisting in the services.

So your grandpa aint so 'out of style' after all...

If you're considering getting a tattoo, you may wanna wait a while. Someone is developing/ patenting an ink that will fade in a few years, and another ink that will disintegrate much easier with laser removal.

I don't even think it's the pain of the needle, just something about tattoos/being tattooed is addictive.
Moreso than piercings...

That would kinda defeat the purpose of certain tattoos though.
I know a lot of people who are aware that the tattoo is forever, and get one because of it. For example, a friend of mine has a tattoo in remembrance of her father who passed away, in which she'd never want to lose.

Yes well at that point you just get the permanent one don't you?
I think Nat was talking about the people who get tattoos as art and/or who are unsure they will like their tattoo in 10-30 yrs, rather than the people who get them as reminders of someone/something.
