Hi SystemJJ,

I put some thought into this, and came up with a couple of tracks. It's hard for me because I normally listen to more anthemic stuff. The first list is what I thought matched what your after, the last four tunes are a bit off the mark but most importantly a bit different.

The other thing is that I only listen to older stuff, so sorry if you've heard them before.

Paganini Traxx - Zoe (Timo Maas Remix)
Oliver Klein - Rheinkraft
Mijk Van Dijk & Thomas Schumacher - Delivery
Sander Kleinenberg - My Lexicon
Marmion - Schoneberg (Marmion Remix)
Der Dritte Raum - Hale Bopp
3 Phase feat. Dr. Motte - Der Klang Der Familie

Rex The Dog - Prototype >Techno track, but dark and quality synthwork.

Chemical Bros. - Got Glint >Loads happening here!

Chris & James - Club For Life '98 (Solar Power Mix) >Could be House/Trance, uplifting but no supersaw!

Armand Van Helden - Mother Earth >Long, dark house track.

===

Btw, I guess I could upload a couple of samples if need be.

My best shot:
Plastic Boy - Dahab

Similar "mood", but not synths.
Francesco Farfa Meets The Pleasure Team - The Search (Sleep Walker Mix)

One tune came to my mind:

Terry Ferminal - Nymph (Original Mix)

Itīs not melodic, but itīs definitely dark, unique and driving.

As for the CD release - it was included on the Dance Valley 2006 compilation (CD1) mixed by Sander van Doorn.

I know you dont want psy trance but from the words you use to describe what you're after, I highly recommend listening to Infected Mushroom's album - Cities Of the Future.

Personally Im not much of a psy-trance fan but there are a few tunes on this particular album that are excellent - very dark, moody, driving and with brilliant use of synths.

Anywhere near what you're after?

i'm a fan of psytrance but seriously the only Infected tune I really liked was Anyone Else But Me. but that was only released on a compilation back in 2000.

Hmmm well,(yea yea don't worry, i'm not gonna argue with you!) you probably allready know this album but just in case...your description fits perfectly Planisphere's "Lektrophony",which i think is the best melodic trance album ever made!Well, you say that you like the dark non-supersaw dramatic synths as well as the bass and the overall drive if i understood. Planisphere have them both right?Deep driving trippy rhythms gently layered with the most beautifull (no-supersaw thank god) melodies you'll ever hear in an EDM track! The resulting "journey-like" (E.g. So Many Ways) essence of this style is fanatastic IMO. I wish there was more trance like this.(or better...i wish all trance was like this!)

You are going to find whole Samples in "www.4djsonly.com" (in case that you need an account its extremely easy to create one)

This is the page:

http://www.4djsonly.com/4DJ/index/p...roductID=101878

All the tracks are EXCELLENT .Moonshine and Symphotek are the closer you'll get (at least from a trance perspective) to a classical adagio(no, tiesto's "adagio for strings" is not an adagio!)...its a really deep and beautiful album.I'm hearing there is a new album called "solarism".Anybody heard it?

A few more tracks that perfectly fit your description

Chiller Twist- "Stringz Unltd." check the whole "The Way" album though as well as "head to the horizon" and their website where you can listen to samples of whole tunes.Vert good deep and lush progressive trance.

www.Chillertwist.com

Also a lot of tracks featured in early Paul Oakenfold compilations, especially Global Underground-007 New York.

Some classic tracks in that style:

Junk Project- "Composure"
Accadia- "Blind Visions"
E-Razor- "Mantra" (fantastic classic track.Collab between Oliver Lieb and Martin Eyerer)
Insigma- "Open our eyes"
Atlas- "Compass Error"
CM- "Dream Universe"
Moogwai- "The Labyrinth (parts 1 and 2)"
DSP- "From Russia With Love" (Oliver Lieb's remix)
GD- "Choral Reef"
Sourmash- "Pilgrimage to Paradise"
Cyclone- "Rivierra"
(Some of these tracks are included in Oakenfold's NY compilation.)and as other guys have mentioned,
lots of classic tracks by lots of classic names such as Lost Tribe, Solar Stone, Transa,Marmion, Tilt,Lustral, Cygnus-x etc. etc. etc.

I have a few more tracks in mind but they involve big saw synths. They are very good though. Very emotional and driving. In case you haven't heard them, these are the ones i'm talking about :

Free Radical-Surreal

and can be found here:

http://www.4djsonly.com/4DJ/index/p...productID=24271

Yes it's Helstrip's Nightmusic compilation. "Emotions in motion" and "Sublime" are also excellent i reckon. A Lot of tracks in this comp. are cheesy and bad though especially in the first cd!

And lastly Lange's Firewall project and the following two tracks "Reflections" and "Touched". Yes they have this big super-saw sound but what can i do...they are my two favorite epic dutch-style trance tracks of all time.

I hope all of you remember these classics.

Sorry, but you're way off. I've heard quite a lot of those tracks, and that's not what I'm after.
