and about aus just getting on the map, i think people are forgetting Luke Chable, Phil K, Nubreed, Steve May etc etc

I didn't forget them

I should be seeing Chable and Phil K very very soon here in Montreal

On another note will also be seeing Shiloh...

Because Montreal pwns all. This is THE house city

I don't know if it's Phil K as well now, maybe just Chable... hopefully both together, but not as Lostep- just djing. Lostep was fun, but I'd prefer some of the proggier breaks.

Pappa for sure, much more of a pioneer- still love his Nubreed comp!

Oh yeah, lots of DJs worked fucking hard, commercially however, i believe Infusion probably had the biggest worldwide influence. Countless releases and a quality full length. Chable did have a lot of influence, probably just different influence. Infusion, being a live act, attracts a much different/wider ranger of followers I believe- they can also be booked at much different venues/festivals.

I am by no means denying the impact those other artists had on the music itself, just saying Infusion probably had the most commercial impact on the world, similar to how the world viewed prog Argentina after Hernan Cattaneo. Granted he was 'first' butthere are lots of badass Djs out of there like Can Costa, Martin Garcia, Hernan Cebello etc who are very active and musically very influential yet don't have the widespread commercial career of cattaneo.

yeah fair call - living on the other side of the world - ud have a better idea of who had the bigger worldwide influence

(although ssssshhhh but BT owes A VERY VERY LOT - to a guy called andy page - so id say he has had a lot -if widely unknown - influence)

/end hijack lol

thats rather interesting as ive never seen infusion as that big, its always been about chable and the other for me... its always interesting to hear the views of non-aussies though

and dont expect prog breaks from chable! he'll be playing electro all the way stuff like Shiloh vs Luke Chable - Sentrino.

hehe yeah theres something about melbourne... plus now we've got Ivan Gough making an impact and Dirty South, though there music is rather crap tbh.

edit: final hijack, Page was co-producing with sasha back in the 90's wasnt he?

Infusion has a touch of that pop sensability in their music which I think allowed it to hit fairly big in north american and europe- Seeing the name Infusion on people's Ipod's who were only sorta into house and dance music stopped suprising me after a while.

I think the tunes they made had a much more of a crossover appeal, rather than only being associated with one smaller niche.

yep quench - dreams is a tune, i was only 4 at the time it was made thoh lol made by CJ dolan and Andy Page. that acid riff is in alot of other songs...difficult to say it was full on ripped off as its not something that unique but its very similair to the one in Gamemaster...

see the first time i saw Infusion was in Diggers GG set where he played their stompin dub of Without You and it seemed kind of unknown to me... but i guess thats me
