this is a flat out yes, but they have a REALLY good compatibility thing built in that is awesomely good. there is also a thing that doesnt allow programs that are known to have problems and conflicts to be installed. its still got a lot of room for improvement but the compatibility area when a program is not compatible is insanely better than 2k and xp.

one thing i should also mention is the TCP/IP stack is INSANELY better than any windows os ever! the internet is much more efficient and file transfers are much more stable.
