he completely wipes away any respect i have prior to his big headed, ego driven actions. i'm sure many people will not be able to justify supporting an artist who thinks he's gods gift to the fucking universe and can not accept defeat on any level.

if kanye was smart, he'd invest in soulseek stock.

I dunno if you guys saw this already:

quote:

Kanye West, with a crown of thorns atop his head, poses as Jesus Christ on the cover of the upcoming issue of Rolling Stone.

The outspoken rapper defends his brash attitude inside the magazine's pages, on newsstands Friday. He is also pictured posing as Muhammad Ali.

"In America, they want you to accomplish these great feats, to pull off these David Copperfield-type stunts," he says. "You want me to be great, but you don't ever want me to say I'm great?"

West also says his hit song "Gold Digger" was the best song last year and that it should have been nominated for the Grammy's best rap song category: "That's a gimme Grammy."

Nevertheless, the 27-year-old is nominated for eight awards, including album of the year for his sophomore album, "Late Registration." The Grammys will be presented Feb. 8.

West has always been forthright in saying what he feels, most famously when he said "George Bush doesn't care about black people" during a telethon for Hurricane Katrina victims.

"If I was more complacent and I let things slide, my life would be easier, but you all wouldn't be as entertained," he says. "My misery is your pleasure."

The strangest tangent of the Rolling Stone story, however, is when West says he's addicted to pornography. He remembers first seeing his father's Playboy magazine when he was 5 years old.

"Right then," West says, laughing, "it was like, `Houston, we have a problem.'"

I think you'd be hard pressed to find a man with a bigger ego than Kanye.

number 1 he rights songs with meaning. and he only gives out beats to rappers who will do the same.

hes a huge factor in the talib kweli, mos def, lupe fiasco, madlib, mf doom, the roots, all of spitkicker movement. hes the reason alot of these artists songs are now being played, who were never before really heard of because they were not rapping abt bling bling and gangsta shit. he opened alot of doors for a new wave of artists. He is one person i can say has changed the game.

and big deal he's a lil cocky. mohammed ali was cocky, and controversial and today hes regarded as a great and respected by all. u dont have to like his personality but hes actions have spoken to me louder then his words.

not only that but i can understand where hes comin from. Ive been in that situation where u have been nominated for an award and u believe ur a shoe in and boom someone else wins it out of nowhere. and trust me u want to ghet up and say the same shit he said but instead u keep it hush. maybe he doesnt have as much self control, maybe he has more balls? who knows. but u cant judge his work by his attitude

I respect your taste in hip-hop ... and admittedly I'm outta touch with hip-hop these days, but mos def, talib kweli and the like were rocking long before kanye had anything out. Rawkus records was huge going all the way back to lyricist lounge 1. Accrediting any part of their sucess to Kanye doesn't do them justice.

He may write some decent stuff ... and maybe his head is in the right place with respect to what he's preaching, but I say practice what you preach. Acting like that doesn't set a good example for anyone. He sure as hell isn't preaching respect for fellow musicians.

haha u understood me wrong. theres no way im saying they got to wher ethey are because of kanye...helllz no, kanye wasnt around back in the late 90's of blackstar. but what im saying is, Today these artists are getting alot more play on the radio and are being heard alot more because of kanye. hes opened alot of doors for these types of artists and gave them a market in todays mainstream hip hop

and on a side note kanye was producing for them back abt 6 years ago on some of their older albums

Ya I was checking out discogs

But still ... maybe his lyrics aren't about bling bling ... but who give a flying fuck what he spent on his canyon jumping music video. I'm sure u will agree $1 million does not equal a good music video. Then get up on stage and throw a tantrum?

"British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen entertained the audience with his English-mangling character Borat Sagdiyev, a Kazakh TV journalist, and poked fun at Madonna who is trying to adopt an African child.

"My only concern is that this singing transvestite will not be such a good father," Borat said in a mock video link from Kazakhstan."
