Very true, I never fully understood the bad boy mentality thing.

I think it is a self-esteem issue though. Girls have been treated like shit a lot, and it makes them uncomfy when someone is just nice and polite to them. Because that's how I act around girls, genuine, polite, a little vulgar on occasion, but honest. Yet it's the guys who insult girls to their faces in front of their friends who end up getting them.

Ahem.. err. I didn't check the threads, I'll just go by what's written here. Maybe the chicks have a self-esteem problem previously before getting into another male-dominate relationships. Like attracts like, negatively or positively. Just like girls drop one-sided, abusive relationships for another. Or the chicks like aggressive, egotistical bastards because they're like that also. But I doubt that actually happens. The formers seem more appropriate.

ok, i asked two of my female friends about this and they practically said yes.

the one that does not have a boyfriend said "hell yeah. bad boys!" and she's definitely NOT your typical 'bitch' or whatever. maybe a little immature. the other one was kinda unsure, but she has a boyfriend who's practically a girl himself, so most of the time he's nice to her. they've been together for almost a year and well, he's not a bad boy.

so maybe it comes down to this: immature girls choose badasses, and girls more experienced with life want peace, so they go with the nice guys. not pointing any fingers. but yeah, i heard somewhere that if you don't "spice up" the relationship, as DJ_Exon said, she might get bored.

and btw, alanis morissette - ironic is a good song, one of my favorites. kinda like a soundtrack to life...

i admit, i'm shy and i'm nice, so what? it's not like i have never seen a girl who liked nice guys, i have. and she was making the first moves, btw. not all girls like assholes.

and about this "spicing up" relationship thing... i think it's totally wrong. first of all, why would you want a big fight to spice it up? i remember watching this sitcom a really long time ago where this guy got tired of his "too perfect relationship" and picked a fight with his girl. they broke up. of course it's a sitcom, but there could be an element of truth there.

oh, another thing. why do we, guys, have to "spice up" the relationships? love will hold only and only if both sides contribute to it. and it doesn't have to be assholish.
