Ok, so I removed the keyboard and dismantled it completely, taking out all the keys and the plastic snaps underneath them. I cleaned everything with distilled water, wipes and cotton swabs. Took me 5 hours to do it. Assembled the keyboard again and let it dry overnight. In the morning I turned the computer on. Most of the keys were working, but not all. I also broke a couple of plastic snaps while putting them back so I wasted 2 keys.
But I could access the computer. Fortunately the coffee spill did not seep into the the rest of the hardware, so my computer is working and there is no data loss. I was sooooo worried about it. All my data in there + no backup.
Thinking this is gona cost me well over $ 120, I called up DELL and placed an order for a new keyboard.
Price? - $ 20.03 with shipping and tax I was so happy.
My new keyboard is on the way, and next week I should be able to use my laptop again
Lesson learnt. Coffee and Laptop do not mix |
I dont see any spelling mistakes in that... are you sure your 2 keys are not working? Which ones are they?
Plz type that sentence:
Quick brown fox humped over a clown.. (or watever it is).
