I too agree with the buying 15-20 reocrds a month and listening more than practice. I really don't don't practice though,..to me practicing involves perfecting techniques. After a while you just master the mechanics of it all. I find myself playing with arrangments and grouping records in various 2-5 record sets that are inter-changable for versatility and control if a crowd desides to sway in a different dirrection. I haven't mixed in 6 months though cause I was deployed in Iraq,..but now I'm home to my babies and I spend 4-8 hours a day listening and arranging and maybe 1 hour set straight through. It's like riding a bike for me I never forget and I don't get rusty as this was the second 6 month deployment away from my pride and joy. I mean when I'm not kissing my C.O.'s ass at work I'm dj'ing and smokin pot,...so it's all I do and all I know with the exception of the navy E.O.D. bullshit,....maybe that's why I never get rusty?
