It does come with some multimode presets but they are like singlemode Virus presets in the sense that they are more like templates and exercises that demonstrate some interesting sound design trick. They aren't really usable in EDM tracks straight out of the box.

Its actually really easy to use but its made more complicated because you have 16 channels. And all of those 16 channels are actually single mode patches so you cannot save individual changes to any of those channels.

Instead to have to press both single and multimode buttons to go into (you guessed it) multi single mode. Which is exactly like single mode except that it keeps your multimode arrangement in the background so you don't lose it. You can save single patches in this mode.

Then when you are happy with the balance of all these channels in multimode, you can save the entire arrangement. But you have to save all the individual patches in multi single mode first.

This will of course make changes to all your single patches.

Actually, now that I think about it, it is kind of lame and convoluted. I think its different on the Virus TI because of Virus Control but I've never used it so I wouldn't know.
