Whats brutal is that even if he has a legit excuse, everyone is going to be super pissed off at the no-show anyways. When people come two hours away to see you play, and you get stuck at the border, its almost just as bad... unless you find a way, as an artist, to make it up to them, most people will keep carrying some resentment over the whole deal. I'm glad I decided not to go!

However, there is also a chance that you will be re-directed to a horrid vision that will claw away what remains of your dwindling childhood innocence. Are you willing to take that risk? I thought so... I thought so.

Because a bunch of psycho power trip a-holes work for CDN immigration.
Seriously folks, if thats the excuse, no point being mad. Blame Canada, as they say!

As for PvD, he is just avoiding Toronto cuz he's a dick (and a very overrated producer)
I hate it when people state this, its the clubs that book the djs not the other way around. If a dj hasnt shown at a particular venue/town/city in a while its more an issue with the management of either the artist & the club for not getting the booking arranged.
Not because the said dj is a 'dick' or even of the fact he's an overated producer.
Don't have a clue why BT would have cancelled, but im sure theres a good enough reason for him pulling out
and the PvD at Global Gathering thing, the family thing was just a reason they gave in the day, turns out it was announced long time ago he wasnt playing! Politics i assume more than anything!

That's the thing, they play where they are booked. While, I'm sure they have some say over where they want to play if they play somewhere specific and REALLY like it but mostly it's management methinks. PvD rules, if anyone hates a dj just because they don't come here too often and blame the dj, they're kidding themselves and don't know much about the scene.

If you hate a DJ for that reason...obviously you really don't like the music, but trance (or whtever genre of music you like) is about the music itself...not how often you see a DJ.
Plus, who cares? It just means awesome road trips!

Clubs have relationships with agencies & managements. I doubt PvD would turn down a gig in Toronto (it has a good reputation over here as being a place to play at). So i would look at more the relationship than a dj's personal choice! But yeah you're bang on with the above
