warning - a few minor spoils... don't read the rest of this post if you haven't seen the film and you don't want it spoiled. 
for example near the beginning they drive through a bendy bus, which promptly explodes, then, while still driving the same fuel truck a bunch of guys shoot the hell out of it, but it doesn't explode, despite the fact it is leaking fuel all over the place, and jet fuel is flammable as hell.
another example is the self administered heart zapper (i can't think of it's proper name atm), which simply wouldn't work.
on the otherhand, if they keep the same low level of semi-beleivable gadgets, and probably some of the same gadgets, in later films it won't get so silly that he just happens to have the right gadget, without knowing he needed it. |
Well, compared to the more recent Bond films those "unbelievable" aspects of the film are far, far less noteworthy than, say, a mansion in the middle of an ice-field followed by Bond dangling from a huge ice cliff.
