Keep in mind Ricky Williams. The guy probably smoked more weed than you could imagine and he was a sick running back.

My understanding of the carcinogens that make smoking dangerous is that they are present in any processed tobacco, not merely the tobacco found in cigarettes. Also, I don't think that smoking highly filtered tobacco is any more healthy, in a cancer-risk sense, than smoking less filtered tobacco. The cancer-risk has more to do with the frequency of exposure to carcinogens rather than the quantity - or, at least, that's what the anti-cancer people in Australia have told me.
I'll point out that I'm a cigarette smoker, for what it's worth. And yes, I'm an idiot. |
Have you guys seen the "How its Made" show on the discovery channel about tobacco?
It went through all the different kinds of smoke styles and how they're made. Did you know you can snort certain kinds of tobacco? Mmmm
Apparently only cigarettes are treated with all the extra chemicals, which when burned with the tobacco and other chemicals release the REALLY bad stuff. You're aware of the *advantage* to this processing: slower burning of the cigarette and faster, more thorough absorption of the nicotine into your body.
Here's a fun fact... did you know that 50% of a cigarette is made from recycled tobacco? Yuck!!
Though, technically, *I think* tobacco is a member of the nightshade family... then again, so is the tomato.

Well, I'll take your word when it comes to pro sports, since I don't really follow them or play much (the only sport I really do like is Soccer). You know alot more about that than I do. But when it comes to physical conditioning for martial arts, it certainly makes a difference.
