I'm on it mang. Gimme a couple hours after I get home from work and I'll see how it goes. If it goes well I'll do a writeup and post the fxp. If it goes badly I'll make up some lame excuses and try to fob you off like 'I couldn't upload the patches because my computer gave me HIV.'
Or something.

Depends what you use it for. ImpOSCar is amazing for pluck sounds and analogue monophonic leads. Its just amazing. Better than my Virus B, and it comes down mainly to the powerful oscillators, the filter and the envelopes which are ridiculously fast.
For pads its not so good because it doesn't have the mod matrix or the routability. For making supersaws it is inadequate because it can only do 2 oscillators per voice and for supersaw type sounds you really need alot more. That said it does an admirable job considering it can only generate 2 oscillators per voice and thats a testament I think to how good the oscillators sound.
I'll upload a little supersawish pluck sound with a brief tut and see what you think. Its alot better than the example mp3 I uploaded in the original post.

Hey I checked out those Underworld samples and there are few things you need to clear up for me.
Do you want me to clone that synth brass type sound or that popcorn type plinking lead in Dark Train? Because both sound to me like they came from an Alpha Juno.
I think you mean the synth brass type sound though. Which would be very hard with ImpOSCar since it doesn't have unison and that sound really sounds like it has unison. I reckon I could do it on a Virus B though.
As an aside, I think I made a pretty convincing clone of the plucked lead in Tiesto's ISOS mix of silence using ImpOSCar. I'll upload the patch and instructions tommorow.
RichieV. I have tried Minimonsta - there was a demo of it on a Computer Music coverdisk a while ago and I like it. But its a minimoog emu. And this is an OSCar emu. They both sound really different.
The Oddity is an ARP Odyssey emu. The Odyssey and Minimoog were both analogue synths. The OSCar was a completely digital synth with an analogue filter. I think its difficult to make impOSCar sound good but when you can, I think there are things it can do which no other synth can replicate. Hopefully I'll have all my shit together tonight and upload it all tommorow.
Also, I hated Arturia's moog modular emu. Not because it sounded bad - it sounds really good. But the GUI is horrible and the worst thing - the thing that killed it for me - it emits a loud popping sound when you change patches and theres a signal. When monitoring loud I just found this totally unacceptable. I can deal with bugs and things (thats just par for the course) but what the hell? Have you heard a sharp *POP* at 110dB? Screw that.

Not sure if folks still check this thread but I've an ImpOSCAR question.
I have no idea why when Filter Drive is set to 0 there is no sound. The default setting for this is 60 and it makes no sense as to why to me.
Maybe you could shed some light on this? I'm just exploring ImpOscar and it's the main thing that's bugging me when setting an init patch.
Thanks
