(Wades into this feet first)

I think this question NEEDS to be asked again once in a while to be honest. Sure, it's damned annoying when every third thread is about CD V Vinyl V MP3 - but as technology's moving so fast, searching back to a post that's shunted off the front page, and is now a couple of months old without any update - can yeild an answer which doesn't cover all the current options to their fullest.

Maybe this subject should just become a sticky - for this very reason - and then everyone who asks it just gets punted right to the front - where (hopefully) the answers will update as technology updates.

The whole point of this is that it IS a discussion, as it all comes down to a preference. For instance - ReDzy thinks vinyl is a waste - fine - that's a good point - but it isn't the answer to the question, it's merely his experience with vinyl. Maybe the OP just wants to mix - doesn't really figure all the hot-cues, samples, effects etc that are on CD decks now are going to make up part of his skillbase - and actually wants to look like the DJ he has in his mind, rather than a guy in a booth pressing buttons - who knows - but the fact is, if we can all have the chance to share our part of the argument (or discussion) - then it'll give the new people who really do come on here and ask this question honestly - a chance to have an answer without all of us being tired of answering it... again...

So, I petition for a CD v Vinyl (vs Computer) sticky...

(sorry J:\Digital - this ended sounding as though it was written as a rebuttle against your commen - it wasn't - it just ended up toned in a 'Free speech' kinda way - it wasn't meant to end up like that...

Answering the same questions over and over again is something I've repeateedly had to deal with in 10 years trying to help people - even though I gave all that info for free on the site. The truth is, people don't search, don't trust old information, and don't have the patience to troll through old posts - and as this is one of the few places that does have the intelligence behind it to do something like this, it'll help the new people, and also help tidy up the scattered posts that always end up on here about it.)
