my first reaction was:

then just:

I think it's great that people start crediting the producers instead of dj's. alot of dj's earns alot for lousy work!
while producing a great track doesn't nessesearly make much profit at all.
If there was more money and honor in producing i think there would be much more gifted musicians producing trance (or it would be more seriousity in producing), and the scene would be on a taken to a higher level.
That's my thoughts anyway

So you'd nominate someone for a Nobel prize because he's a good producer?

the point is that the dj depend on the producers and they won't be able to do their work properly with shitty productions.

no, wouldn't nominate a producer for the nobel prize.
If you think that's excactly the same thing, then that's you.

Considering the post you quoted, your opinion is that a good producer should receive a best DJ award. So I think my analogy is correct.

sure, i think producers should get more credit for their work. but that doesn't make the djs. so there's no point AT ALL to vote for them in a dj poll. even if the producer is a dj there's no point voting for him on a dj poll based on his productions, because the dj poll is about djing, not about producing.

i get that point, but there's no public producer poll with many participants and media attention so it's not easy to credit producers any other way. It's not the best way to do it, but the way i see it, the only option. And they're allready nominated.
