You need to start producing!

It has a little more than that, the crossfader broadcasts midi as well. There's also a knob that can be set to broadcast midi, in addition to the two filter cutoff knobs. But yes, it allows midi integration, not being able to control everything via midi if that's what you want to do.

Again though, it has to be something you're going to do. That's why you have to ask what he's going to do with the mixer.

Just seems outdated now, the nuo4 as well- but again you're right... it all depends on what you want to do.

It's only a matter of time until every mixer is completely midi or osc like the 800 and 3d.

Re: Pioneer or A&H ?

i wouldn't get the 600's or the 500's at this point.. nuo4's are a good choice in my opinion.

So...

Xone 92 = Sound
DJM 800 = Effects + MIDI (which I probably wouldn't use)

Still need help which one would be good for psytrance

If you can't narrow it down.... What mixer does J00f or Christopher Lawrence use?

just thought id add my 2cents, my djm800's built in effector does amazing things when mixing psy...i know it wouldnt really make a difference since you could always add an effects unit to whichever mixer you get, but +1 for the djm800 i guess

The 800's midi capability SEEMS like a great idea, but when you actually try to go and use it with Ableton combined with regular CD/TT decks, the limitations of the design become very apparant. There just aren't enough controls, and the controls you decide to use for MIDI interfere with the regular audio devices you have connected. The Xone 3D gets around this by having separate MIDI and mixer sections.

Now if someone (A+H?) comes out with a MIDI controller just like the 3D without the mixer in the middle, I'd buy that and stick it next to my 92.

the xone 32 among a few other mixers i beleive uses a fader to select between master output and cue output. this could definately get annoying...never tried the 32. my old vestax VMC004 had a pot dedicated for this and although some people found it similiarly annoying i actually loved it.
