Well IMO Jam & Spoon - Be Angeled is a good example of why male vocals in trance simply do not work, those vocals just do not gel well with the music.
However there are trax where male vocals are well suited,

IMO opinion male vocals add strength and character to a tack. I hate it when the vocalist try to hit a high note. A male voice is low by nature, and it adds excellent base as well as bass (does that makes sense?) to a track. The female voice adds mood to a track. However there are exeptions.
