If the price is right, I wouldn't hesitate getting a Zero8. IT looks absolutely amazing and full of functions. Also, I like how the design/look & feel is geared towards ableton.

Wow.. Korg was the last company I would expect this from. Great job.

Zero8 is extremely hot but I still can't see me using all that shit. I can barely use everything on the 3D as it is. That backlighting is sick as shit though.

how good would the effects be on the zero4 compared to a djm 400?

I would go as far as saying better. Since I havent tried it yet I will reserve judgement but I will say that Korg has established their brand in the pro audio market for years.
They are makers of DSP digital synths that are used on platinum selling top-40 records.
The triton for example is industry standard in hip-hop and pop.
So they would have a ton of money to spend on developing fxs algorithms that are unique to their product line. It wouldnt cost them anything to use those algorithms in a different product being a different synth or a different mixer.

And if this is the case you can expect those fxs to be oozing with quality!

Ecler have been making stuff for donkeys too - they started in the mid 60s and have always been a very strong reputable brand.

Here I mean 'donkeys years' i.e. a long time - they haven't actually been making audio equipment for donkeys to use... that would be ridiculous
