CDj 1000 is the ONLY dual voltage product in the pioneer range

Freak - there is absolutely no point (apart from the joy of burning money and electricity) in using a step down transformer on a dual power rating device.

Both models i bought came directly from the pioneer factory in japan. I quick trip to radio shack, bought new plugs for the U.S. and a year later, still going strong

I know- but at the time of buying, it was not common knowledge that they were dual voltage and even on the pio forum they were advising people to use step downs.

The transformers were on special in Maplin at the time (like dirt cheap) anyway.
Can't be bothered to change them- work just fine. Will be off to the US soon anyway, which was one of the reasons for buying US ones in the first place (aside from saving $$$$ of course)

Dude, I know what you mean about saving money by buying kit in the US - a lot my kit was bought there and with a tenner at maplin, all is good.

I did find one wierd thing though, my tech 1210's (now sold) would not hold the pitch with a step down quite like the UK versions with a UK plug. I figured out that tiny varioations in power (normal in most home circuits) would create a larger variationin power to the deck and would effect the pseed of the moter.

I'm off to the states too in the next 6 months and I know what you mean about the plug

All 3 of my 1200s are UK...its my CDJs, mixer and a couple of other pieces that are US, so not had that problem.
And yes, it is impossible to impale your foot on a US plug left on the floor..... unlike uk plugs which bloody hurt

Don't forgwt your 1200's should have a voltage selection switch* so you can put a US plug on the end and they will work on the sunny side of the pond. *some (rare) models don't have the switch.

But you might be better off selling the 1210's because at 14 kilos each, your baggage allowance is nearly all gone.....

If you play your tracks on foreign gear, all the vocals will have an accent.
