Synchronicity: Not inappropriate or even unexpected, just deserving of its own space I think. I was going to do the software thread and then I sorta saw this one falling off the map, so I wasn't sure whether or not it'd be worth it. Probably a software thread would be more popular though.

System101: I was going to ask for a sticky status if we got a lot of votes, although right now it doesn't seem like there's enough to be too useful. Stickiness is a mixed bag - it's more likely to be seen by the newbies, but most regulars will gloss over the stickies and so it'll be even harder to acquire votes. Dilemmas...

well yeah i agree with you there but if the regs do post in here their recommendations, and then the thread is stickied, the n00bs will find this thread and it will most useful to them in the long run.

At the moment i can't really give too many hardware recommendations due to the fact that most of the stuff i've purchased is software...
