Has happend to me quite a few times. Its really scary. I have to jolt my self really hard to get myself to wake up and get out of it. I normally have to count down also.
It happens to me alot when I sleep on planes, which really sucks. The person next to me is always like "what the fuck is wrong with you" because I suddenly have this whole body spasm
