I have eaten mushrooms, and I enjoyed it. I also admit that I acted like an idiot while I was on them, this admission being a rather modest feat which is apparently impossible for some people.
People who are on hallucinogens act mildly stupid and odd at best. Maybe their actions don't correlate well with whatever profound insight is secretly bubbling up inside their heads, but forgive me for being skeptical.

I think a lot of it probably comes down to how spiritual you are, and how open you are to such experiences. What one person might consider a spiritual experience, another might consider nothing more than a cool effect of the trip. Comes down to who you are I guess.

Notice I said a quarter ounce. If you eat a few caps you'll just laugh and act extremely strange. It takes a higher dose to experience ego death.

I would like to try some psychedelic cacti sometime.

Most people can't handle DMT.

it is a great article. The author did accomplished the unheard of and actually managed to articulate trip-talk into normal, understandable english, and he did it very well.
How did you stumble across this article?

i've been researching spirituality a lot lately.
i'm questioning my existence and trying to make sense of what to believe, and i heard that many turn to Buddhism or Hinduism after taking LSD or doing a similiar drug. I find it strange that all psychedelic drugs whether it be natural (mescaline, mushrooms, lsa) or unnatural (lsd) all offer the same ego-less state that eastern philosophy is all about. maybe the self truly is an illusion, and we will continue suffering until we stop questioning and just be.

You don't need psychedelics to reach altered states of consciousness.

the path to altered consciousness through meditation is quite difficult I believe. Although I might hazard a guess that it is less harmful than consuming drugs.
