Yeah, just been reading the live commentary of the Irish game and they did seem to be playing very well. Funny to see some of the emails being sent in, at the start of the Irish innings it was Irish fans bad mouthing Ed Joyce, and then at the end the Pakistan fans saying the CricInfo commentators should all be sacked

Likewise the Bangers did seem to be playing extremely well, 3 WC debutants and all teenagers all scored 50+, and also some of their bowlers like Mortaza.

Good to see Bangladesh and some of the Associates playing quite well, good on em. I reckon its great to see.

(And I did change my prediction to New Zealand when the drug cheats were ruled out of the Paki team)

i love cricket journalism

9.00am Hello everyone and welcome to Cricinfo's coverage of this Group C match between England and Canada.

Firstly, some dramatic news from the England camp. Andrew Flintoff has been omitted from the starting XI after a breach of team discipline. The news comes amid reports he fell off a pedalo and got into difficulties in the water, hours after England lost their World Cup opener to New Zealand - at 4am, specifically.

England have refused to comment on the claim but four other players were fined for breaching team discipline after they were seen out drinking. Flintoff was warned several times in Australia - a touch of a drinking culture is apparently creeping back in to the England team. All of the Sky team are applauding the England management for clamping down - apart from Ian Botham, who thinks it's a bit of fun and "an overreaction".

typical beefy there

Bob Woolmer, the Pakistan coach, has been taken to University Hospital in Kingston, Jamaica, after being found unconscious in his hotel room earlier this morning.

Woolmer, 58, was discovered lying on the floor of his room, with vomit around him, at 10.45am and was taken by ambulance to hospital at 11.50am. Police also attended his room. "We have taken Bob Woolmer to the hospital and he is in the emergency ward," Pakistan team media manager Pervez Mir told AFP.

Pakistan team manager Talat Ali, their trainer Murray Stevenson and assistant manager Asad Mustafa went with Woolmer to the hospital where he was given medical attention. "We have contacted Bob Woolmer's wife in South Africa and have told her about the situation," added Mir.

Woolmer was last seen in public when he addressed the post-match media conference after his team's defeat to Ireland at Sabina Park.

At 14.30 local time, Woolmer was still unconscious.

More to follow.....

i was just about to post that, i'm in shock.

I have to wonder if there was more to it than a natural cause though, there's some nasty fans out there, and on the night pakistan are humiliated... you do have to wonder I'm afraid.

Still in shock, he was hotly tipped to come coach England after the world cup.

Well I just hope they don't lose to Bermuda on Monday. The Indian team is so fucking unpredictable. Some of the world's classiest batsman in there. But they don't work as a team.

The man who put South Africa firmly on the cricket map is dead. R.I.P. Bob Woolmer. The timing of his death does raise suspicions of foul play. An autopsy should determine whether that was indeed the case.

I think the Pakistani cricket team got into too many issues when he was their coach. Stressful job to say the least. I read somewhere that Shohaib Akthar had slapped him once ? What a prick, if that is true.
