Oh that's me! it was nice to meet you, sorry if I seemed kind of spacey...I was really out of it and didn't have much of a voice left because work was so crazy on saturday night (I think it was the busiest night we've ever had). I'll be less out of it next time, I'm sure!

Okay, so I have finally found the time to put together another one of my trademark excessively long reviews! As I always say at the start of these, for those of you who will read this, I hope you enjoy my memories of the evening!

So as many of you probably know I had been counting down day by day waiting for this event to finally happen--having missed both A&B and US12 (but having received 2 A- exam marks as a result ) I couldn't wait to finally party and let all the stress leave me.

Here we go:

The night began with me picking up Geli (where I met PurpleHaze for the first time ) and then heading down to Jess' so that the three of us could make it over to see DJ DAROUGE spin some sickkk trance hehe. Derek had us over for about an hour or so while he entertained us with his new decks. Since I was driving and would be finding my thrills in another way, I remained sober while the other got shit-faced: let's just say that the drive down to the club (in inch-by-inch traffic on Spadina on midnight WTF?!) was 'interesting' lol.

We were worried that we wouldn't make it to the club in time to get in before midnight in order to take advantage of the $10 guest-list entrance...we failed and ended up pitching the $20 but whatever it was cool. While waiting in line to get into the club Ed, i.e. Nostrum, met up with us and little did I know at that point how much this gentleman would add to my spectacular night.

Anyways, we got inside the club and started making our rounds trying to start the night off the right way by finding all the TAs who were in attendance. I partied with a lot of great ppl--both TAs and random clubbers--and I will provide a small blurb for each of them below b/c thy deserve it!

The first part of my night wasn't enjoyable: I couldn't get the right 'buzz' going and, so, I just couldn't get into the mood. Consequently, I missed the majority of Lawrence's set I chilled in Tanga for a good while trying to get myself psyched back up and by the time I was good to go Lawrence was into the last hour of his set. I have to mention that during this time period, two ppl were especially helpful in getting me back in the mood to party. First is the lovely Jess: she unhesitatingly chilled with me for a good long time chatting with me and just encouraging me to smile and have a good night. Thank you very much Jess. The other person was Ed: it may sound a little silly to say but I have to point out that Ed caused my mood to take a complete 180. Out of no where he comes to chill with me in Tanga and says "Do you remember near and far from Sesame Street?" and I'm just thinking/saying WTF are you talking about? haha. So then he starts acting out what he's saying (haha, as I type this I'm laughing and have a huge smile on my face ): he goes in close to me and says 'near' and then runs about 10 feet away from me and says 'far'. He honestly did this probably no less than seven times and I couldn't help but laugh and smile. He completely changed my attitude and the way I was feeling at the time. I was, in short, amazed: I remember that Ed and I shortly thereafter were joking about the whole thing and he said something to me which really caught my attention--> he said something like "You see, something so small just like that can instantly switch around how you're feeling"...it really stuck with me b/c it was so true: in the matter of time that it takes to snap one's fingers I had gone from being horribly disappointed to feeling great.

Anyways, it was around 3am at this point and I finally made my way to main room to start the fucken party!! haha... I finally started dancing and from that point onward I didn't stop for a sec right until 7am, not a word of a lie! Near the end of Lawrence's set, myself, Tyler, and Catalinae were waiting up near the DJ booth in hopes of getting a chance to chat with and get some pics with CL but the Guv staff kicked us all out and made us proceed back to the floor...next time! So, then Mark Oliver came on at about 4:10am and HE.FUCKEN.KILLED.IT.

Oliver's closing set was, without a doubt, the best I have ever heard. As Shaya mentioned, his tech-trance set was wikked and had people moving like crazy. I was thoroughly impressed. The beats were so hard and had so much energy. There were so many incredible build-ups--a lot of these seemed extraordinary insofar as they weren't the "been there, heard that before" ones but were energized to the max. Just awesome. If anyone converses with Oliver I'd really encourage telling him that he did a sickk job closing for CL. Plus, the encore track at the end was very appreciated: he rocked the main room so hard that a significant number of ppl did not leave until the last kick faded away.

So, at about 7:10am we all left the club: I drove Derek back to his place and we chilled there for a bit. I talked his ear off about a whole bunch of stuff, but especially how much fun I had over the last few hrs. I was wrecked, just about to pass out and, so, I had a nap at his place before I made the long, tired drive back home to Sauga.

So now that all that is out of the way, I can get on to the good stuff: my favourite parts of the night!!

There are a lot of things about this night that remain special to me. Generally, I am so appreciative of all the ppl who made it out, especially since so many of you came out b/c you knew I wanted you there and wouldn't be able to party any other night for a while. A huge THANK YOU to everyone with whom I partied. The two very best of this night for me were: 1) all the amazing ppl I met and partied with; and 2) the crazy hard dancing!! When I say crazy hard I mean non-stop, give it all you've got, constant smiles, I never wanna leave this place movement! haha. This event was definitely the most fun I have ever had dancing: from the ppl to the nitrous (so sickk) to the lasers and lights to the general atmosphere of everyone simply wanting to have fun, it was awesome. I've never had ppl feed off my energy so much before (and vice versa): every single person I was dancing with that night smiled at me and encouraged me to destroy the floor as Oliver banged out the hard beats.

The people:
1) Geli: thank you for coming out hun. I know that you were not at all feeling good but you made it out just for me and I really appreciate it. I also lost my voice b/c of the event. Thanks for being a trooper.
2) Jess: we had been talking about (or more like I had been bugging you about) this event for about a month: you more than anyone knew how much I couldn't wait to party. And though at no point did I think that you wouldn't make it out, that doesn't change how thankful I am that you made it. Again, thank you for chilling with me in Tanga. To be honest I was in no shape--either physically or mentally--to continue the party after the club and, so, I just couldn't do it.
3) Derek: I am really glad you made it out to this dood. You were like my right-hand man for a lot of the night and I appreciated it. Thanks for kicking it with me at the beginning of the night; thanks for helping me out when we went out for a smoke; and a huge thank you for letting me chill at your place for some sketch recovery after the club. Haha. Next time you better do more dancing son!
4) Colton, Yuri, Gabe, Katerina, Remi: it was great to see all you guys again. Colton you were bouncing off the walls like mad, it was awesome--thank you very much for your help, you know about what (I really appreciate it). Remi didn't seem to be having the most amazing time but it was good to see him out again. Gabe was smiles all night and it was great to run into him every so often seeing him with his pimp hat haha. And Yuri was having fun, no doubt about it: I was glad he was able to show up. I had such a great time with Kat: it took me like a good hour to realize that she hugged me when we first met up haha. She was lots of fun and just had a great attitude all night long--it was very enjoyable
5) Luke: dood I am so glad you attended this party! Haha it was so funny when your boy was like 'this is the guy who was asking about you on the forums!'. I definitely spent the majority of my night partying with you and it was fucken sickk. I love your energy dood and your positive attitude. Plus, the whole night you had sexy girls around you haha. We're gonna it up big this summer big guy.
6) Rich: there was no one else who I wanted to party with more than this guy. Though I had briefly saw him on the night of Marco V, I hadn't really partied with him since last September! Haha Rich I think you could tell how excited I was to jam with you. You and your girl (who is so pretty by the way) were so much fun to party with. I told you what it meant to me at the club but lemme just say it again: I really appreciate you making it out and the fact that all I had to do was ask you to come out--even though you had just partied hardcore a few days before @ US12--and you partied with nothing but smiles was awesome. I cannot wait for this summer man. Again, thank you.
7) Tyler and Catalinae: omg....you guys are the best. Tyler you continuously hyped me up for this event in the event thread and, so, I was really looking forward to owning the dance floor with you on Sat and I was not disappointed. Tyler you were a great part of my night: you were very friendly and it was simply a pleasure, thank you so much. Catalinae: what can I say? You were definitely an ESSENTIAL part of my night: you and I must have danced together for close to 3 hrs! I absolutely loved seeing your smile throughout the night. Haha, I apologize for the fact that it took me a few times to remember your name, but now everytime I think of it I can't help but hear you pronounce it with your lovely accent. I was also glad that we got to chat about our experience at Guv back in the fall. You are simply awesome! I sincerely hope that Tyler and Cat are two ppl who I will be fortunate enough to party with a LOT this summer.
8) Bassi: dood you finally introduced yourself! Haha. It's really great that you made it out; I'm glad we finally kicked it together and I'm sure we'll do so a lot more in the coming months. Thanks for coming up to me to say 'what's up' man!
9) Jay: I've already expressed my appreciation for the kindness you showed me in the picture thread but I wanna mention it again. Thanks for everything dood. Of course the pics mean a lot to me but you taking the time to chill with me and just have a couple of conversations was the best part. Thanks buddy.
10) Shaya: Always a complete pleasure seeing you out at events. Whenever I asked for a pic you took one without question and thank you for taking one with me. You're definitely a great guy and always seem to be enjoying yourself at these parties. Looking forward to seeing you lots this summer.
11) Ed: I am very happy that you partied with us: Derek had mentioned that he had a sick time partying with you just a short while ago and now I see exactly what he meant. Ed is, from what I gather from this night, a truly 'stand-up' guy. He is very kind and friendly (bought everyone a drink as soon as we got there!). He's really funny (at one point he said to me: "I want to be a good father to my daughter, someone who can provide for her you know....not like I have a daughter or anything though" LMAO....haha he also took off his shirt and made Jess feel his man boobs LMAO)). No question he also seems really smart and deep: we had a lot of conversations about previous events, the dynamics of trance, ppl's attitudes and interactions with each other, and so on. I mentioned it earlier but just so you know that it meant a lot to me: thank you very much Ed for getting me back on track to enjoying the night. I am geniunely happy that we got the chance to party together and I would definitely love to hit up a bunch of more events with you.
12) Two non-TAs: For about the last 1.5hrs of the night I had an amazing amazing amazing time dancing with this guy and girl by the podium nearest to the booth. The guy's name was Sundeep I believe but I cannot remember the girl's name. Either way, these two were fucken awesome dancers: just watching them move kept a huge smile on my face--they were SO dope. These two were definitely one of my favourite parts of the night: they were a big part of the reason why I've never had so much fun dancing as I did then. They both seemed really cool and we got a quick chance to talk and exchange contact info; hopefully we'll be able to jam together again soon. I really cannot stress how great it was dancing with them: talk about nothing but positive energy and friendliness. Thinking about it over today has made me smile so many times.

Damn...I hope I didn't forget anybody: I would be surprised if I didn't and, so, for those whom I forgot to mention please forgive me. I think all of you realize how much fun I had and even more importantly how highly I value the presence of fun ppl at these events. So, to everyone who played a role in my night: I sincerely thank you.

FUCKKKK: talk about rambling eh!!

Here are the pics I've managed to collect so far.
