idk why though, helped his fame.
The mind is a messy place 'cause i remember something like that too..
And in the same article he said he wanted to be remembered as the man who created the eclectic genre? Correct me if im wrong

His techno produtions, although not to my personal liking, are fairly decent. Having said that, Funkytech funkytime is one of the most horrid wastes of vinyl ever to be released. I mostly blame Fergie, though.

What's so horrible about it? That voice-stretch is amazing IMO

Probably just due to the fact I have something against most, if not all, techno reworks of older tracks.. Tracks like that just do well because of a well known sample, not because it's any quality music-wise. Funkytech funkytown is a prize example of this.. A track that's plain and simple but getting lots of attention and airplay because of the sample..
Allrighty then. I feel you on that one.. But there are exceptions IMO this is one of them.. I've always despised raping samples but there are good reworks too. Just as long as we respect the originals!
A good example could be Proper Education? I own every last Floyd album and i was HORRIFIED when i heard that Eric's come out with a remix, but still.. it's ok.

When I saw him last October, he had his Meganite posse with him, played a pretty banging set of hard techy tracks, played a few of his cheesy classics, then threw in some minimal toward the end which kind of ruined the energy level he started with. Overall, a good show, but like Chesco said, Mauro's lost a lot of respect for making his parmesan trance. I can't say that I don't like it because his trance tracks were the gateway drug to EDM for a lot of people, myself included.
But I definitley think he's a better, more capable techno producer.

Techno. Special mention to Taub (as nobody else has ).
Oh, and Verdi is immense.

+1. picotto at TE 2001 was a monster! his borderline tracks and great alternations between techno and trance tore the place apart
