Er... the album was an entirely self-contained album. There was never any stage musical that accompanied it, the closest to that being the live performance tour of the album that occured very recently. I've also never heard of the music from the record being used in a film adaptation.

The musical didn't accompany the album.. the musical was made over 2 years before the album was finalized. The album based on the soundtrack of the musical. I've read that from some Jeff Wayne interview years ago tho so maybe he was lying.

Weird. I have the 1995 re-release of the album with a large amount of text in the inlay talking about the album, the contributors and its success, and I don't remember any reference to a musical. There's nothing on Wikipedia about it either.

I saw an old documentary about Richard Burton not long ago, made when he was still alive, telling about all the problems and setbacks during and before the making of musical.. involving Wayne as well, so maybe he's ashamed to mention it, or the musical was never ran in public or something like that. Dunno about that but i know it was there alright, before the album. Both Wayne and Burton made it very clear the album was recorded later on and Burton was asked to the studio to give his authoritative voice again for the narrations on the album.

speaking of a more recent tune, First State - Evergreen central from which film soundtrack was based on? I remember to have already heard that classic sample, but don't remember where.

I did a remix of 'now we are free' a while ago :P I think I've heard a remix of 'sorrow' from gladiator aswell.
