I sometimes feel like giving up, but then trance gives me such a rush and I've listened for it for so long I personally feel I have to give something back.

The idea of having a release on a label I love is too great to not keep producing, let alone getting in tp the DJing too and being a full on prod/dj where nothing can stop you getting big.

Its still very important not to have music as your main career option until you make it big.

I've just finished uni and now began my I.T career and then have music following behind that as in, do it in most of my spair time after work, but I still get out and do stuff with mates in the w/e's.

Then again, Jon o' bir was just a DJ and now he's releasing tunes and hes obviously had loads of help just to sell himself better?

Not that I'm saying dj'ing will get you big enough to have tracks basically made for you, he won a dj comp ....

Yes it definateley helps me chillout after work, along with the gym.

I find it hard to get in to when you just get home but then I can get lost in it until I go to bed.

Another thought - If you feel as though your putting all your time in to it but not getting anywhere, if your not already learning new techniques via guides/tutorials - do that, then try producing a track again.

That way you spend your time on music production and garantee progress in some form, if you feel you cant be bothered to do this your probably not in to production enough to keep you going.

That would keep me satisfied for a while, getting airplay from 2 well-known DJs. Have you ever submitted any tracks to a major label? Not sure if I'd ever have the nerve to do that.

Yep, that will demotivate a person. My old 1.4 ghz was making me pull my hair out. I have a pretty decent PC now. I still freeze tracks to free up resources. Thank goodness I discovered FX Freeze.

Yeah really.. It's my dream to make tunes good enough to be signed to one of those labels, not just to be signed to the label itself..

Wel you gotta look at it this way if you really want to become a major producer you need to put alot of time and effort into it.Even dreaming you will one day become a really good producer helps.Motovation is like the key well to me listening to anybodys tune from trance addict Major artist and others gives me unbelievable insperation. When you trumble over a stump do a remix and get back to it later but the main thing is to me if you cant feel it then you cant produce it. NEVER QUIT MUSIC IS LIFE!!!!

i send my music to labels i feel i would like to be released on. like cold harbour, club elite, scanner, great stuff, plantage 13. usually i get replys sayingthe track lacks something or is too fast bpm wise. so if the track does not get good label replies then i sometimes find it played on a dj radio show which keeps me motivated. then if i think its worth it then i release it on my own label.

this motivates me quite well and when i see that tracks are selling well then this is nice and keeps me going. it would be hard to carry on knowing that there are no real fans or people that like the music enough to pay for it.

sometimes i wish that my tracks got the same coverage that tracks on the big labels get but i keep going with the belife and hope that one day i will hear a big dj playing my track while im out in a club.. this would be the best feeling i think

This might sound a bit stupid but I am making music first of all for myself... I am my own biggest fan :P .. I am just trying to make the music I like most, combine sounds and styles in a way I like to hear them. And if others like it too, it is even better.

Agree with you 100%
They day I'd have to adjust the way I do music to suit others, and going away from what I want to do, is the day music dies for me.
