I used to love Tiff Lacey and i still do, but she's been whored out just as much as Jan Johnston and it's making me sick.
She has a really nice voice and a lot of range. (Wippenberg - "Promisedland" even though the song is tripe)

Vocalist that haven't been used as much but sound sooo good is:

Sophie Moleta (Human Movement, Holmes Ives) WOW!!!
Kate Cameron (Space Brothers etc.) i'm glad she has come back.
Andrea Britton (Darren Tate etc.) probably a good example of a vocalist used at the right amount.

You mean "post-mixed," right? Pre-mixed is the same as live.

I miss Justine's warm voice. And I'm glad to hear Chakra's Kate Cameron back on Sound Fiction's "Alive".

mate you obviously havent heard that many tracks, jan johnston has done a hell of alot of productions and justine suissa has been on countless productions since about 2000. justine suissa is arguably the biggest vocalist in trance when it comes to the amount of stuff she's done.

and the person who talked about the phases of different vocalists forgot the biggest one of all. sarah mclachlan

No one's mentioned Andrea Britton. I think she's pretty damn good.

alot of thses vocalists are shit live. not all though.

and yea i love andrea britton aswell

i think someone who will soon be used even more than tiff lacey soon though will be zoe johnston....the same thing happened with justine when she worked with above and beyond.

Meh.

thats like most vocal trance tracks lol. i think that if vocals are used it shouldnt be continuous, there should be as much focus on the melody as there is on the vocals otherwise it becomes more like a pop track imo. i can deal with some cheese but u have to really if u want to enjoy alot of trance tracks that incorporate vocals, if u dont your going to like about 2% of every trance vocal track ever made lol. however some (actually most) tracks are just so fucking cheesy these days they make u cringe which i cant take (fuck u avb).

sometimes, very very rarely though imo the vocals are good enough that the melody deserves to take a backseat to the singer (but still has to be good) and the song can still be great.

Ummm. Not really. Maybe biggest when it comes to popularity- but certainly not in the amount she's done. Justine has the four Oceanlab singles (five if you include "Sirens of the Sea"- which hasn't been released yet). Her few tracks with Armin & Robbie Rivera, and a couple of others. Certainly wouldn't call that "countless" - especially when compared to Lacey (or even Johnston). And she wasn't featured on ANY new tracks (that I know of) in '06. Which is why I say I miss her voice.

Since never. But folks only owning her Remix albums probably tend to forget that.
