Oh and a little handy tip for people: WinXp boots of the cd, so no need for a boot disk now, just set up yr bios to boot from cd and it will boot with the cd. So you can instal that way. Just sommit i found was handy.

Oh and if you update yr hardware in XP you have to reinstal XP, trust me on that one. The only thing that can be changed is RAM. and plug and play devices. You have been warned

Oh and dual booting is annoying imo

You've decided to run dual boot then ?
My advice is to get a small hdd for your linux o/s as it can destroy windows partitions.

No, you shouldn't need drivers for ur cd, unless its very old, most are ATAPI, so u shud b ok, WinXP, Win98, and Win2k can be booted straight from cd, just select first boot device as cdrom in bios.

Partitioning hdd is usually done thru FDISK, which should be on a Win98 or WinMe startup floppy disk (not on XP or Win2k, its a dos prog), or you can make one urself, with format on it as well, which is what I use if you want I can send u the files needed to create ur own startup disk and tell ya how to do it, its real easy (must b if i can do it )

Win 2k, coz I've never had any problems with it at all. Works like a dream. XP looks better tho, but you keep hearing about people having probs.

So I'll stick with 2k for the moment...better the devil you know

... I say Windows 2000 @ the moment. Its very stable. XP just came out. A lot of compatibility issues. Another thing both OS are exactly the same. Only the look changes in XP. Its a Scam by MS (thief's). You can change the view into the windows 2000 look. LOST... you fucken Birds at MS... Bad Birdies, they need the shots.... peeeeeeek peek peek calling all birds

I prefer win 2000...

Its a lot more stable but, it has a lot less drivers

although xp has it all, I found some problems with it.

But I still tent to use XP Currently...

I use Win2k myself but at work we use XP. I voted win2k, because I like it better. I don't know why some of you are having troubles with games, I don't think I have found one single game that wouldn't run on win2k...
