I brought a VMX300.

It was crap.

I own a DJM800 now.

I am happy.

i used a vestax last night. it was absolutely, the worst mixer (next to the gemini i used once) i've ever mixed on. 2-band eq's, no split/cue, no cueing buttons, you can't hear eq changes in the headphones, no eq cuts (you still heard bass/treble even with the eq's all the way down) the knobs were too close to each other, etc etc.

i've honestly never had a problem with anything numark

odnt know what vestax you were using, my pcv 275 lasted me for 2 years and served me very well.

I'd say go for one of those second hand, i sod mine for £160 in the end

I took a hammer to my DJX700, what an absolute pile of grabage, I remember first coming on here and bigging up how happy I was with it. The more you know.

Was it a PMC06?

http://www.decks.co.uk/temp/RESIZE_E6EA7DF2.jpeg

I think that's the only Vestax mixer with only 2 band eq... it's a very old model designed for scratch DJs and just about nothing else, pretty useless for mixing on normally lol

Scratch DJs don't normally need severe EQ cutting/boosting hence only 2 band which only go +/-12dB with knobs that are close together - cos they'll hardly get used. The focus is on crossfader control - curve adjustment, hamster switch etc as they're what will actually be useful to a scratch DJ.

So basically what I'm saying is don't base an opinion of a brand on a mixer which wasn't designed for what you were using it for.

As it's a Vestax, the build quality and sound quality of that thing will be solid and reliable, which has tended to be the main focus of us hyping them up in this thread.
