But ya, Involver rules, Involver 2 will rule and it is due to come out in the not SO distant future me thinks, and pretty much every other album he did pwnz.

A lot of people knock fundacion, but he popularized quite a few of those tunes, I mean all of a sudden every time I went out to see a prog DJ in 2005-2006 I was hearing electromagnetic and jah. Not to mention the further acclaim Goldfrapp recieved from both Sasha AND Diggers. Cant forget Ewan Pearson or Carl Craig either, fuck man that album was STACKED with GREAT tunes by great producers.

And the first half was brilliantly put together.

Exactly.

The following sequence:

3. Swayzak – Another Way (Richard Davies Mix)
4. Beanfield – Tides feat. Bajka (C’s Movement #1) (Carl Craig Remix)
5. Kosmas Epsilon – Innocent Thoughts (Stel Remix)
6. Funk D’Void – All That Matters
7. Closer Musik – One, Two, Three (Ewan Pearson Remix)
8. Phonique – 99 & A Half featuring Alexander East (I:Cube Remix)
9. Holden & Thompson – Come To Me (Last Version)
10. Holden & Thompson – Come To Me (Club Mix)

...is every bit as good as anything on Involver, it just wasn't "Involver 2," so people bitched.

Fundacion is a major winner

I liked Fundacion up until the first remix of "Nothing" then it got too electro. Its nice but there was way too much of it. Involver is my fav CD, listen to it about a million times, Love it. I even lost my copy of it and rebought it cuz I love it so much, got it signed by Sasha too.

Also I don't get all that talk about Sasha going mainstream...his stuff is still really unique and I haven't really heard other DJ's dropping the tracks he does...maybe Diggers on a few tracks but overall, Nope.

As far as I can tell the only "electro" tracks are Behind The Wheel and Electromagnetic... I'm not a huge fan of electromagnetic, imo its the lowest point of the CD but the track is still excellently placed and mixed brilliantly in and out...so yeah even though I dont like it, I find it hard to understand why most dismiss the whole thing as crap just because of those two tracks. From Safari to the End of the disc I thought the CD was great. Blacklight Fantasy is massive.

Fundacion is a fascinating album to me - it's by no means my favorite mix cd that I own, but it's probably one of the more masterfully put together. I agree with RJT, there are very few sequences I've heard, live or pre-recorded, that can hold a candle to the first half or so of Fundacion. There were times where I couldn't pick out transitions even after listening to the album 10+ times. The only indication I had of mixes were the changing track numbers.

On that note, Involver is more just a collection of incredible tracks, not really an incredible mixed set. I agree with whoever suggested John Digweed - MMII, and Sasha & Digweed - Northern Exposure: East Coast... AirDrawnDagger too... but they're still quite different than Involver, but just share some commonalities in that they genre-bend a bit and are more low-energy.

Ulrich Schnauss' albums are also going to be somewhat similar, as well as the Global Underground Afterhours comps.
