Indeed, it's VERY sad 
And you make a good point: Like Ferry, A&B always do better with short sets than with long ones (which is the opposite of Tiësto and especially Armin). I told this to Jono and he was kind of shocked ("Maybe we're not the right DJ for you" ).
Anyway, I kind of understand the theory behind the progressive buildup and techy ending, but I strongly disagree with it
