it has better posture which makes it look prouder.
also, it helps the rider keep his balance more easily.
b is in disadvantaged position because he doesnt have the best view of coming obstacles. also, it limits the rider's mobility when the horse is like that.

I think most people will opt for A, regardless of the neck and head position. A is a neatly taken photo with a white horse walking around, centered in the picture and a lady riding it. B is a poorly taken photograph. The horse is not shown completely in the picture, the lady's face is blacked out and so on. There is an inherent bias for picture A.

For all those that picked A, you're right.
A is the correct position.
B is incorrect yet used very often.

huhuhuhuh ReALLY?!
It's quite obvious that it is a larger horse. If those are two different riders, I highly doubt that the person's legs in the top picture are 6 inches longer than the person's legs on the bottom. Look at the bottom of the horses chest. The rider on the top, her legs go past the bottom. The rider on the bottom, her legs are about 3 inches from the bottom of the horses chest.
It seems you like replying to me often, in an attempt to prove me wrong.

You assume that in both cases the pictures were taken from exactly the same height with the line of sight parallel to the ground. Height and depth perception of 3-D figures on 2-D photo surfaces can be very misleading. To objectively state that one horse is larger than the other, you need to take 2 identical photos from the same distance and the same height.

In a dressage competition, which this seems to be, rather than a jumping competition, the horses head should be positioned the way it is in picture B. No shit.

No. No. No. Now you are just disagreeing with me for the hell of it. That's really lame. The angle doesn't matter, I'm basing it on the position of the feet, I guess you didn't read since you're still blabbering about the overall horse. The angle of the photo is not significant enough for the perception of depth to be misread.
Go do something instead of taking a simple comment and analyzing it horribly.

pay close attention to the neck of the camel, its in a U shape upwards. Plus its prefered since a uzbikistani boy is stealing this cammel and running off with the collections. This adds to the composure of the picture.
