Twilo and Giant.. are probably one of the few clubs i can name to be huge in the states..
but i can't think of many good/big clubs in the US>.
on da other hand..
there are the Dorian Gray, Illusion, Crasher, Fabric, etc.. along with about a million club events.. Sensation, Impulz, etc....
The US trance scene is relatively young comparatively...
if not, then Holland wouldn't be the trance capital of the world.. and UK wouldn't be sometimes dubbed the "clubbing capital of the world"..
although Twilo is good and is big.. its a one off...

Sandra Collins & Christoper Lawrence are Rave Circuit DJ's. I didn't even know Tranza or Bill Hamel spins. Where are u from? It's not hard to get to Europe.

collins & lawrence rave circuit? what difference does that make.. they still do trance.. and they're still djs.. or else Collins wouldn't have made her "gatecrasher debut a couple weeks back"
and yes bill hamel does spin.. book him (941) 655 2720
.. transa live acts are also around... eh.. easy gettin into Europe? maybe.. i'm not tryin to spark a debate, but for u to say that US is the last destination that dj's need to conquer before being superstar is wrong.. dats all im saying.
where am i from? around.. but i've lived in cali, london and asia.. so i can tell u first hand that the scene in the US as a whole ain't good..
im sure most ppl will agree that europe is a more prolific destination for trance scene than the US...

Twilogoddess NOTICE I said length of time and KEEPING THE CROWD ENTERTAINED. Selection, mixing skillz, & knowing when to drop the right track (bombs)is how I define keeping the crowd entertained. I think your a little bias towards PVD, he's been number one before and you know what to expect when you see him, I don't see as much orignality in his sets, their always just a great PVD set! And I wouldn't consider Acosta chessy, some of the clubs he plays are chessy.

Jason, Danny is incredible but he was voted Number 1 last year by one of the DJ mags I just don't see a repeat, but you are correct I can only think of one other DJ that can play as long as Danny, but I won't mention J.V. in this fourmn...

Read This! I'm not arguing Trance is huge in the U.S

It's growing. Giant doesn't compare to Twilo. Doesn't it close at 4, 6 am?

Pick up Muzik Mag or Mixer they only talk bout Twilo when referrin to the U.S scene. Twilo has the best line up & sound system. Have u been to Cream or Home? Twilo has the same system (Phazon). Gatecrasher has a residency at Limelight, NYC the scene is growing. Gatecrasher is having a Twilo Arena at an upcoming event & they are collaborating in WMC.

i agree.. and another one who plays ridiculously long sets is Ariel...
apparantly.. his first ever set in s.america.. was on top of a wooden box.. played for 15 hours or something ridiciulous like that..

exactly.. which reflects the fact that US trance scene is still in its infancy.. crasher has been around for what.. 6 years? ...
the best sound system is not cream in the UK..
The End and probably Fabric have superior sound systems the last time i checked.. twilo's name may have reached the UK shores... but forexample..
take Renaissance..
Renaissance has hit about every single country i know..
THe Cross and Media (UK), Ibiza, Zouk (Singapore), Pink (Hong Kong), Australia, South Africa, South America, even Israel...
u don't get much more exposure than that..

Unhappy

I have to agree with you infinity, I'm orginally from the states and the scene is so new there, the British DJs are the ones who are bringing notarity to the scene. There are great american DJs and great clubs, give it another 2 years....

good point

That's a good point that DT has already been #1. I just wanted to give him some credit, cause spinning for more than a 6 hour set by anyone is absolutely nuts.

What do you guys think of Max Graham?

Twilo

The way I see it, we went from who will be the #1 DJ at the end of 2001 to, is america up to par with europe when it comes to the trance scene. Plain and simple, Twilo is a European club in America that has the world's greatest DJ's, an amazing vibe, one of the world's best sound and lighting systems, and they are all about the music. If you take an average DJ from the UK and compare him to a slamin' american DJ, the majority of people will say that the UK DJ is better for the sole purpose that he is from the UK. I'd say 80 percent of my records are from the UK and my favorite DJ's are Sasha and Digweed from the UK. However, the UK has the best record presses which is why most records are made there as well as people being more attracted to things from the UK than from the US when it comes to trance. Digweed has expressed repeatedly that Danny Tennaglia (an NYC DJ) is his favorite DJ and his biggest inspiration in regards to the style of music that Digweed currently plays. This deep, dark, groovy trance that everyone was originated in the US. Everything used to be epic and melodic with all the builds until the NYC influence crossed paths with the UK sound. I think that the UK, the US, and many other parts of the world have each contributed to the scene to make it what it is today. You can't say that the European scene is sooo much more advanced than the US scene. We have all done our part and I look at the trance scene and the music on a world wide level rather than on the level of comparing country to country. Let's keep in mind that electronica wasn't invented in the UK. The UK just dominated it for a short period in history.

At the Present time...in NYC, Digweed, PVD, Tiesto & Danny Howells are the most popular.

George Acosta is in no way cheesy.. In my opinion I definetly think he's probably one of the best dj's. I think he's better than Sasha or any of those other "#1" Dj's. Let me just say it again, thats my OPINION. Sorry for all those Sasha fans but thats the way I feel..My list....

1George Acosta (definetly)
2.Dj Tiesto
3.Armin Van Buuren
4.Ferry Corsten
5.Dj Edgar V.

P.s. - I listened to 1 of Dj Fuzions sets. It was the first 1 that Swamp posted and that set was really good, may-b he will become well known soon..
