Here we go
Its April 2003, I was 20 years old at the time, Ferry is spining at the old Glow @ Club Insomnia here in Washington DC. The set was great, Ferry started with the usual Nothing (93 Returning Mix) He spun til about 4:45am.
During the set, he came out to give out Ligaya vinyl, but the second time he came out to shake people's hand, he accidentally kicked someone vodka drink onto my shirt. I was pissed. As soon as Ferry saw that, he felt bad. So he told one of the Glow employee to hand me a free drink. I took it, but I gave him the signature that I was underage at the time. No one cared. I thanked Ferry. I blew him some kisses, in a manly way of course. A couple minutes later, I went up to the booth to hang with him, as soon as I came up, he said "I am terribly sorry for that", and I said, "It's okay." It was a great night!!!

I was having a conversation with my boy Matt (mfelner29 on here) about past experiences with DJs and stuff. I figured a lot of people on here are promoters, or in charge of events, etc., so this will be a funny post for you to talk about your "night with the DJ" when you brought him over....
I guess I'll start here on the round-table panel discussion haha... I've gotta say, my time with Martin Roth is filled with such good and funny memories. Right from the first hour of me and my friend driving him from the airport, we were on our way from JFK to Manhattan and we passed and absolutely HUGE cemetary, not sure which one it is, but it's at least a half mile long, at the very least, and right near whatever highway that was. He goes (in his funny PVD-ish German accent) "Wow, that is quite amazing, I must say... I've got to say, fuck the New York City skyline, this is really something amazing" and he was turning around in his chair like a kid looking at the whole cemetary haha....
20 minutes later, we're in midtown and talking about German parties. He's in his 30s so he's been to just about every massive German even ever to have gone down. So we talk about Vandit parties and I'll never forget the awkwardness of this convo. He starts describing the Vandit nights and says "You would not believe the spirit of the crowd, it is absolutely massive (like Germans seem to say a lot, it seems!)... There are people screaming Vandit! Vandit! and holding signs and pictures and posters and FLAGS too! It is like a Nazi demonstration, hahaha!" (my friend Matt is Israel Jewish haha either way, it was funny, you hadda be there).

Martin is an absolute trip!!!
He's a great guy even though the Vandit shirt he gave me was a Large it's still great for pajamas.
P.S. Bring him back.

ah geez... i'm stuck home workin on a paper so i figure i'd contribute to this thread while i'm "taking a break" (ie, wasting more time..)
2002, i'm in london for an internship for a publishing company that published club guides (i just laugh thinking about that alone.. what a fucking summer man.) anyway, as you could imagine, all i did all summer long was go to clubs for free and do reviews. creamfields comes along, i get a couple of vip passes and me + 5 of my friends are backstage while ferry's playing. i was taking video and pics behind ferry right in the booth, whatever, then we decided to get dancing next to the stage, right in front of the crowd that was behind the rail. suddenly, nonstop, people start asking if i'm ferry's sister, cousin, mother, grandmother, you name it, i was apparently related to ferry. a few ask me to get their tickets autographed. sure. went up to ferry, he signed up, went back down. more started asking. ok, fine....then more and MORE...until i lost someone's ticket completely! it ended up being a ticket of a very hot english bloke that way and we're still friends to this day. (hah, kinda anti-climactic, right? )
anyway, the best time had to be standing right behind pvd (and subsequently taking pics of/videotaping/generally worshipping pvd's ass) when he played his set... which was fucking awesome btw, especially nothing but you had just come out and he was playing all sorts of edits of it and everyone was totally in love with it, including me. (4,397,092 plays later....ok nevermind.) afterwards, all 6 of us looked like we just arrived from mars because paul took pictures with all of us. i had that pic up in my room in a frame for like, 3 years next to my pvd shrine with candles, incense, posters, photoshopped pics of me and him getting married, etc.
