But would it sound good? Surely the melodies would clash?

uff...

if the tunes are in dimensions of 2 (bpm wise) you'd not have a problem...(and clashing melodies have to do much more with harmonic mixing than this)

let me show you...

the first tune is playing at 65bpm
the second is at 130 bpm

what would happen if they were both the classic 4 to the floor rythm?

k---k---k---k---k---k---k---k
k-------k-------k-----------k

its just a matter of this...
errrm it's not exact

but basically what you'd to match these two would be that for one bar of the 2times faster one you'd play two bars of the slower...

or is it other way? damn I got lost in it now...sorry I resign!

Fair enough. I honestly can't imagine it being any good but hey, who knows.

Actually, this is done quite a lot within the hardcore scene (not the cheesy hardcore trance scene but the underground hardcore techno/breakcore scene).

DJ's such as Hellfish and Producer have been dropping 90bpm hip-hip tracks onto 180bpm hardcore tunes for ages now and it sounds fucking amazing - if you like that kind of thing....

ok there we are in the example I used two loops the first two bars is a 130 bpm house loop the second two bars are an rnb loop.

Then they play together...without any problem (I didn't bother EQing it or anything so you can clearly hear what's going on.

Doesn't sound too bad. I see what you mean

But how does that help with 180 into 144?

144 to 180 it can't help I was more reffering to the post where someone mentioned this...

sometimes it just helps to make the range you have to pitch a bit smaller...

like lets say 100 to 180...
so you would match one like it was 200 and then match it to 180 which would make your change of the pitch less.

Try it. If it sounds good, it's koshur [sic], and if not, don't use it. Rather simple, really. Why would you want a bunch of idiots like us to tell you whether it's okay or not, when you can just try it?

Oh, and record it when you try it, and post it here.
