Whatever. You say they are killing Iraqis, I say they are killing terrorists.
Either way, they are fighting so that terrorist lovers like you and shaolin and hardcore can get on this board and post their terrorist loving propaganda. The least you can do is support the TROOPS THEMSELVES even if you don't agree with their mission. If you don't agree with their mission then it is YOUR job on election day to put in office people who will withdraw them. Its nice that you have the freedom to do that, isn't it. Freedom that the people of Iraq didn't have before the invasion.
Now what you have over there are terrorists and extremists trying to destabilize the country and use public opinion at home to force an American withdrawal. At which point they can take over and do whatever they want in Iraq.
I do agree that we never should have gone into Iraq. We as Americans tend to try and spread freedom and justice to people who do not value such things. We serve as the world's policemen, every country in the world talks shit about us until they get invaded and then its 'get the Americans in here to bail us out'. But now we are in Iraq and thousands of Americans and hundreds of thousands of Iraqis have died trying to make that country free. Now is not the time to quit before the job is done. |
You've obviously never seen a single declassified document in your life!!! LOL. "We as Americans tend to try and spread freedom and justice to people who do not value such things."
CIA trained/US backed death squads in:
Nicaragua - Contras
Iran - SAVAK
Honduras - Battalion 316 (amongst others)
El Salvador - No specific names
Those are just a few off the top of my head, you can find plenty more, not to mention all the CIA/US backed coup de atas of democraticaly elected goverments. LOL, talk about delusional.

I love how you think the American soldiers are devils for accidental civilian deaths, but if you are an Iraqi and you strap yourself with TNT and deliberately blow up a market full of civilians you are a 'hero' or a 'freedom fighter'.

Given, there are many terrorist operating inside Iraq that have no real political aim, other than indiscriminately kill. Some groups are what you would call 'freedom fighters' thought. Iraqi's against the american invasion. People that bomb american forces, not civilians. This lumping together you like to do is just maneuvering to cheapen the possibility of real discussion of the situation.

I never thought this day would come but I do finally agree with you about something. I fully agree that Iraq is a lost cause. Hell I'll say that the entire Middle East is a lost cause. But until we no longer need oil to power our cars we will have to be involved there. I look forward to the day when we can withdraw all our forces from the area and let nature take its course. Unfortunately nature would probably be a massive Arab attack on Israel followed by an equally massive Israeli nuclear retaliation. |
Oh you americans and your psychic powers! You have to be psychic, because if you were doing a rational analysis your 'if we withdraw' would be quite different. You forget that 'democracy and freedom' wasn't born overnight in the western world. It's also not uniform throught the 'democratic and free' western world. Each country has had many many years of struggle to fit the main ideals to their particular situations. Compare democracy in eastern europe, to democracy in northern europe, to democracy in the US, to democracy in Canada, to democracy in South America. Can you really tell me any of them are the same? No. They have to be fine tuned and accommodated to the people, to the circumstances. It has taken the US 300+ years to get were it is right now. You expect a whole region to just be 'like the US' overnight? How shortsighted do you have to be to believe that this would have even the remote chance of working? Things take time to work and the US has many a time reversed and endangered democratic processes in many places because it was not convinient for them. Now they want to make up all of the sudden for damage done by spreading some more 'democracy'? Your whole country suffers from serious delusions. Acknowledge reality, that this is not for the good of anyone other than the US, and things get alot easier to analyze and understand.
