Buy the full Cubase 4 with a student discount. (That's what I did).

But before that.

WAIT A FEW MORE MONTHS UNTIL STEINBERG FINALLY FUCKING IMPLEMENTS FREE ROUTING (FOR SIDE-CHAINING/EXTERNAL KEY STUFF)!!!!!!!!!!!

I actually love Cubase 4, the only thing other than missing that feature is that it misbehaves a bit from time to time with "older" VST2 plug-ins. The Waves bundle has some problems. Occasional dBlue Glitch will fuck up. And from time to time VST's won't load their GUI properly.

So yea. It's a great progam.

YES!! That is exactly the feature I'm waiting for in order to upgrade. I really hope Steinberg delivers on that promise, they have certainly been talking it up on the Cubase forums. I can get around it for now, but its a pain in the ass.
