Although, the tracks that he played were pretty much all his old hits, the crowds energy was intense. I totally enjoyed his 1 hour set, feeding off the crowd's energy, and they did want an encore.
Hopefully now, next year the promoters of Coachella can have a better DJ on the main stage. I think they got Tiesto on purpose, because he can definitely attract people that are new to EDM. Coachella promoters are smart.
What you guys think?
It's Tiesto; he's always going to be the "face" of EDM-pop for a long, long time.
If you enjoy Tiesto, enjoy Tiesto.
If you enjoy other acts, then enjoy the other acts.
Why Coachella works: there is something for everyone.

I wasn't there (I wish I was) but I enjoyed a couple of these videos a friend took and uploaded.
Man I wish I had been there. Funny thing, tiesto is the only dj who brings in a lot of new blood. I have some friends who went to coachella just to see him for the first time, all were blown away lol. I've been representin since 2001 baby! It's fun to see friends roll, see tiesto and fall in love with EDM. It's a beautiful thing.

Tiesto was okay, I wish I would of seen Infected Mushroom but of course that was the same time as RATM! Hehe. It was quite a set up they had for him and I think a lot of non trance lovers actually liked him. However, we need more psytrance djs, not these house djs who's tracks are just borrrring. Dah!
Coachella was still awesome though, well worth my 350 bucks.

PvD wasn't bad (probably better than any of the times I saw him in 2006).
From my other review:
I am tired of a couple of things: His beatmatching is subpar. He _always_ plays the same closing songs (Time of Our Lives, etc...) EVERY live set. It was nice the first 5 times, but it's getting really boring.
PvD>>>Tiesto
but, of course, these are like comparing two not-so-fresh apples with themselves.
