Oh yes, I've basically spent the better part of 10 years to finance it and working long, long hours, share trading, working in sales, sales coaching, modelling, beauty therapist and starting small, one brick at a time into assets as a basis for loans.
Anyone who thinks they can breeze through on happy thoughts and just a 9-5 job is living in a dream land. You must be smart and you must accept that you'll have to work harder and longer than anyone else... and guts, if you're a chickens**t who's scared of losing like the rest of the sheep that blindly follow trends without thinking, then you'll never get anywhere.
We would definitely fit into the 'sorting out one brick at a time' phase right now. We're not afraid of the work though. Running your own business destroys the 'it'll be easy' ideal pretty fucking quickly and ruthlessly
I still really look forward to it though, whenever it may come around

Yeah, your 'boss' always tends to be the biggest prick ever!
I'm just whipping my over-edudumachated, lazy student partner of mine to finish off their law degree quicker so they can go lawyering, I won't have to work so hard and can retire to a bed of rose petals, cocktails and footrubs on demand.
(I'm not holding my breath)

That f*cker also always knows when you're lying about not coming in due to illness, family deaths, and car accidents too. But, on the upside, he does allow drinking on the job

That and you can smoke at your desk without some OH&S idiot look at you like you've set the building on fire, crank up nasty music to the point it'll send people tone deaf and have the TV next to the computer... oh and getting straight out of bed, no makeup or doing your hair and working in PJ's all day =

Fuck yeah to all of that, except I don't watch TV (advertising makes me want to punch things), and I don't wear makeup. And I shave my head, so that doesn't really apply either :/
But I certainly AM introducing my fuckwit neighbor to the finer points of sleep deprivation, along with a bit of 'Do you prefer Drum'n'Bass or Breakbeat at 7AM'

You should push the envelope jdat. Try grabbing a glass of wine at, say...midday. If it doesn't phase them, have a beer immediately afterwards.
Make a game out of it. See what you can get away with before you get told off

honestly I doubt it would cause any trouble
I am living in France after all where we have two hour long lunch breaks and where drinking a glass of wine a day is the strict minimun

i'm a legal assistant now and it's good as far as salary and benefits goes for someone in their 20's without a degree yet, but i don't want it as a career. law school for me in the next 4 years lol. taking my sweet ass time but better late than never.
and while i'm on the topic of my job, i just want to say that both of my bosses are quite possibly the most pathetic, miserable phonies i've ever met. and i notice it's a pattern with attorneys who do any sort of PI or insurance defense work. it fucking sucks!! it's the worst kind of law to get into, i wouldn't practice PI work if someone put a gun to my head. i need to find a new job where the work is at least interesting and the clients have an IQ over 10.
