Well rust-proofing in Ontario is a great idea, especially with all the salt and stuff on the roads in the winter. Your car is worth a lot more than a computer, and it's worth spending some money to make it last as long as possible.

Ok, seems like no one else has pointed out the obvious... so dude, no offense but it's a Protege. They're nice cars, don't get me wrong, definitely much nicer than my shitty Toyota, but a Protege is not exactly the CEO of PimpCo.

If you need the new computer then you should definitely buy that over something that's purely cosmetic and probably won't increase the resale value of your car. If, on the other hand, you don't need it, then you shouldn't do either of these things, you should save that money. I'm guessing it's your tax refund and contrary to popular belief, there's not a law on the books that says you must spend it.

I would go for the rust-proofing though, if you think you'll have that car for a while.

Yeah, to tint my Yaris I was quoted 170$, and thats from a reputed shop that does all the work of 3 of the 5 dealerships in Collingwood (so I'm not exactly overly concerned that a shitty non-professional tint job will be done).
