For better or for worse, half the people at the Martin Roth party knew who Martin Roth was, and the same goes for the Talla 2XLC/Vic/Funabashi. However, there's only so far us promoters can go. Your reply highly oversimplifies the art of throwing an event. I have dozens of guys that push tickets, thousands of dollars go into online promotions and heavy flyerboy distro, so no, I agree that the DJ itself doesn't sell an event, but there's only so much you can do to push an event to people, relative to what the cost is. We can't bring EVERY DJ that we wanna see, there is a certain line that is crossed between something being a "risk" and something being "way too much of a risk". There's a certain amount of profitability to keep this party-machine going. Hope that explains things

I hear what you're saying ECO. I understand that it is difficult to bring people out to certain events, but that doesn't mean it isn't possible. You obviously don't want to take on that sort of risk and that's a good business move for what you're looking to do. In any case, I can definitely respect that you are only willing to risks at such a young age.

I mentioned ASOT because Armin is definitely my favorite. I was thinking about going to ASOT 300, but when airline prices were low i wasn't too excited about the event. But since the lineup was announced, i've been regretting not purchasing tickets when the prices were do[able]. Aly & Fila are quickly moving up my list.

Yeah...it's a shame about the whole ME situation. I wonder if those guys would have problems getting visas to enter the US. I know entrance into the US hasn't been exactly easy for middle easterners.

Oh yeah Jerz, you brought up a good point... We the promoters are required to cover the visas for the artists we book, who don't have them. For a standard "entertainer" visa from someone in Europe, it costs 4000$. For someone in Africa/Middle-East, I'm really not sure.

I know their booking agent is from switzerland, and if the agent was smart it would have tried to get EU citizenship for them. I can't imagine they didn't because they seem to travel all over Europe. I just brought it up because they may not have EU citizenship.

$4000 How much of that is attorney's fees?? I'm pretty sure the filing fee for an 0-1 visa ins't nearly that high. I saw it was 190.00 for some countries and a little more in others.

unfortunately 5 people is only 1% of the amount of people you'd need to make a party with these guys work.
