i wasnt expecting it to be good. ive never liked spiderman the comics, and i didnt really lik the first two movies either... spidey's not my thing. but i do find kirsten cute as heck in the first one or two (forget which ive seen)...

Lots of things that I found to be slight annoyances than anything, but overall I feel the movie didnt ruin anything that was developed over the past few years in the spidey trilogy.

I think a main problem Raimi has as a director is knowing when to lay on/off the cheese in this movie, because there are definately lots of parts that could of been left in the editing scene or re done to make it seem less emotional then it had to be. See this is where Im left wondering if this was a real attempt at bringing heartfelt emotion to the screen or Raimi forcefully trying to cheese the scenes to make it easier to watch with a good chuckle. Comic book emotion= cheesey character drama?

Character plot was fairly good, though the short lived Venom was good enough to sustain a good fight scene, this movie definately could of done with a bit more Venom, or none at all. Such a bad ass character shouldnt be left done with how it was. Villains were weaker than Doc Ock in #2, cause they had to share alot of screen time with each other which is why its hard to compare spidey 2 to 3. Simplicity can often make a movie that much better, and I feel it shows when you see that maybe they tried to cram a little too much into one movie.

Heres an Asterik note in the movie ****WARNING SPOILER**** that made me laugh, why is it that when spider man kisses another girl infront of Mary Jane, no one says shit to the hero/guy. Yet Mary Jane kisses Harry, and countless guys in the theatre called out "Slut" "Whore" "Bitch". Double standards much? lol wtf ****END SPOILER****

The funny part of the whole thing was that, I felt Raimi actually made a spiderman movie that was maybe a bit too intelligent for its audience. Not that im trying to read too much into a movie like Spiderman, but if you really look at the themes Spiderman faces and acts upon, it brings him into a humanly looking light that maybe you dont get too often see in comic-movies.

Overall, I enjoyed the movie alot and rate it alongside #2, the action scenes were amazing, the CGI really kicked ass, and while the drama was overkill, its better than absolutely no drama or character plot. Even though its not a trilogy, clearly its a good end to the Raimi trilogy version (which looks like he might be done), so I dont really know what the fuss is about, this movie is just as good as any spidey movie.

Also, the movie is really fuckin funny to watch actually, Raimi has a good sense of humour with all his characters, and no character goes without giving you a smile or chuckle at what they do or say.

It's based off of a fucking COMIC BOOK, granted this is no 300, (I'm sure even you ******s have something bad to say about that, this does NOT surprise me, it IS based off a comic book, sure.), but relax...ever hear of going into a movie with NO SHRED of expectations? Plz? Someone? Just GO TO SEE A MOVIE. Period. No expectation, no "holy shit, wtf is going on?" (in the bad way, at least the 3/4 of the movie, just ACCEPT the disbelief for once....long enough for the movie to be over. Fuck.

AHAHAHAHAHHAHA. That movie was all over the place. Some of the fighting and intense drama scenes were nice (even though I didn't like how shaky the camera-work was during the fights, and how hard it was to fully comprehend what was actually going on in the fight - a lot of times it just felt like a mess of things spinning around and flying by). And then pretty much all the slow scenes blew huge chunks of cheese. Some of the scenes were downright ridiculous. When he started crying for the third time, the theatre audience collectively laughed. Like what were they thinking, making it so lame people actually laugh during the "tragic" parts?

Yeah, it's obvious he didn't like the evil Peter parts because he fucking MURDERED them in the movie. Peter started sporting a gay emo haircut? And walking around like a flaming homo? AND WHAT THE FUCK WAS UP WITH THAT JAZZ CLUB SCENE? I could not believe what I was watching.

Character development was great. Don't get me wrong. The way the characters interacted and how their relationships changed was awesome.

And what was up with Peter kissing that girl? How much of an idiot do you have to be to to make out with some girl when you knew your gf would be watching, a few hours before proposing to her?

Also... since when does sand... fly? I've never seen a cloud of sand just... take off and fly. Retarded.

Venom WAS cool though. That final climactic fight with him was wicked. Made the whole movie worth watching.

OMG I LOVED HIS NEIGHBOUR - URSULA. Ahahahaha. The scenes with her were the greatest scenes ever. Laughing my ass off her.

OOH! I found Tobey's acting great. He was asked to do retarded shit, but he did it well. Although he still smiled like a jackass. I don't like that smile.

Alright saw the movie yesterday....your right about the cheese factor....i wish there was a bit more of venom, but what are you going to do....its gay about harry osborne and peter parker teaming up....because hob goblin dont like parker to begin with....even tho peter diddnt kill his father....i have to say that i wasnt expecting sandman to be as awesome as he was.....and the whole black suit....(tux or whatever)...walking down there street pointing to girl and shit....too gay




and that american flag bullshit u were talkin about earlier.... i had to just yell out cheese....

still give this 7/10

Whoa, I'm probably gonna catch this flic tomorrow. I haven't been a super-fan of Toby McGuire handling the Peter Parker character, but I've still found the movies entertaining. Doc Oc in SP2 was BRILLIANTLY played, I thought. Talk about empathy for a super-villain.

I'm with JennyPie...if you read the comics, you know that Peter gets the short end of the stick OFTEN, feels the weight of the universe, and often wusses out worse than Luke Skywalker moaning in Episode 4. Regardless, he's one of the good guys that the writers like to break often, comics or movies, so it's good to see some things never change.

Today is free comic book day, btw, so get all yo' asses to a comic book store and support the roots!

If you truly want to see one of if not the best comic book to movie adaption to hit the big screen, give Sin City a couple of viewings.

The Spiderman franchise has always been CGI driven... they were always meant to be those big "blockbuster" popcorn flicks out to make as much money as possible. when you look 5 years down the road though when our technology continues to advance we will look back at these films and go "oh man those graphics are aweful, that looks soo unrealistic" -- Much like how we do at the present to movies made back in the 90's. The movie industry simply does not care how aweful the movie really is, they just care what the overall outcome will be and if the movie makes a lot of money than they have achieved their goal.. ie X-Men 3 - this ranks up there with one of the worst films ever made to end a comic book trilogy, I wish I could rate that film in the negatives it was soo bad.
