something just stinks about this fight. like donkey shit.
The judges scorecards. Mayweather's constant defense without ever pressing any offense, not even any shots to drop the slower and flatfooted DLH. You'd figure he'd had played to have DLH fatigue himself in the opening flurries, then drop it all out in the later rounds.

I mean wtf, DLH was just moving in a straight line that last 4 rounds, yet Mayweather kept taking the aggression and slaps from DLH. Why did the judges give Mayweather the closing rounds if DLH was pushing the action (regardless that he was just slapping) while MW was equivelant of checking his myspace?

boxing is dying to full contact combat sports, and this fight had a lot of hype as either the final shining bell of boxing, or likewise, the opening bell for the rebith of the sport. fuck this shit.

Personally, I thought it was a great fight...no big romantic knock-out, but they both played it very well. As for the last 3 rounds, I had the 10th & 11th going to De la Hoya, and the 12th to Mayweather, which still, according to my judgment, made the fight 115-113, Mayweather. I could have seen it going to a draw, if someone had gone with the 10th as a draw, but I really don't know how someone made it in favor of De la Hoya. That is absurd.

There will definitely be a re-match. On another note, De la Hoya was a lot quicker than I'd expected, and, so it seemed, than Floyd had expected. It almost seemed like he was a bit intimidated by the added quickness and was spending a lot of time trying to avoid a KO. The 11th round was probably the defining moment of the fight, as De la Hoya, according to whomever they had scoring, landed only 8 punches, but, I thought, destroyed Mayweather, despite the fact that he landed 26. I REALLY thought that Floyd was going to collapse in that corner. In any case, I must've been one out of about 30 people actually rooting for Floyd tonight. REEEEEEEE-match.

Boring fight, but no real surprise there. Boxing hasn't been good in years.

Dont really care much for boxing since Tyson left but nothing hypes up a rematch more than controversy and this seems to have been the case here.

A lot of people agree that boxing is like WWE except that they actually hit each other but the results already been predetermined and im inclined to believe that. Its a very corrupt sport that is all about betting and seems to now be much dead and buried losing out to other forms of combat. Shame really.

it was a good fight. I dont think, as DLH said, it was enough to say the DLh was no longer champion and FM had the belt. You need to win more decisively for a belt

I dont know if you've seen the fight but Mayweather was better than de la hoya. I liked the whole thing with sombrero hat and mayweather's outfit, especially his shoes. mayweather was smiling at de la hoya all the time. de la hoya got embarrassed.
and besides that everyone know that box is a dirty sport so everyone knew who is going to win even before the fight, however it is still fun to watch,

To each their own. De la Hoya > Mayweather. (De las joyas a mayweather)
