Thumbs up

I grew up on the so-called "Seattle" sound, and was especially into Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, and Soundgarden as far as it comes to bands that had more mainstream success.

Mudhoney, Green River, The Screaming Trees, and the Melvins were also big favorites, and honestly - some of the books that have been written about King Buzzo's exploits are great.

/random reminiscing about my childhood.

Saw them when they were in Copenhagen last year, and they rocked. The new singer was quite good and had nice stage presence but they had his mic turned down pretty low so it was a bit hard to hear. Layne defenitly would have been a big difference to hear.
It was really cool seeing them since I didn't have the oportunity to see them back in the days.

A cool moment of the concert was when they brought out Lars Ulrich to play Man in the box.

The best thing about Chains was the way that Layne Staley and Jerry Cantrell's voices harmonized when they sang co-lead vocals. (No Excuses, Got Me Wrong, Heaven Beside You)

i reckon the best thing was the power of layne's vocals, you just dont hear many men sing that way these days. theyre all soft and gay imo. but yeah, cantrell's harmonies certainly were cool.

my faves would be

down in a hole
man in a box
rooster
would

down in a hole is the only song i can sing all the way through in the one octive

Yeah it was awesome... They were like "And now were going to introduce an old friend from a little obscure local band that you probably never heard of" and then Lars walked out

Otherwise it was exactly the old line-up except Layne.

I like basicly all of their songs except Love Song, which isn't really a song.

My favorites are:
Rotten Apple
Down in a Hole
Nutshell
Would
No Excuses

That was a great show...too bad theres nothing even remotely resembling that on MTV anymore. I think they may have brought something like it back on MTV2 briefly but I can't imagine it was anything like the original.
