Yah, compromise is a tricky balance often.

A totally selfless person will never be happy bc everyone will forever and always come before them.

At what point are u comprising too much for someone else and not being true to urself?

Congrats!

Theres nothing like moving in with your loved one to take things to the next level- its something I believe everyone needs to do before deciding on marriage. It is absolutely essential in my books.

Breakups however, are very very tough. Think before jumping into anything and enjoy it!

all the best

I believe it is essential to decide on marriage before moving in together, however I respect that most people do not feel that way.
Best of luck to you and your lady!

I agree with the above post somewhat, and make sure you're financially secure as well as emotionally.

Too many friends of mine have moved in for the wrong reasons. I can't tell you how many times i have heard the classic line "We spend every night together anyway, so why both pay seperate rent?"

I have also made this mistake once and am NEVER making it again. I hope to get married one day and have heard many co-habitating couples say " well, now that we live together why bother getting married, it won't change anything." I never want to feel that way, IMO marriage is the ultimate commitment.

I agree about marriage being the ultimate commitment, of course I do. I also hear many people move in together because it is 'easy' (we both know that's not the case) BUT I do think there are many merits to co-habitating in general when you are serious about someone.

took the plunge about two weeks back.

Keep in mind it's a house of 5 people and my gf and I share the master bedroom... but it's been a blast so far.

Bad idea. But nothing any of us say will make a difference at this point.

I hope for your sake that you at least intend to marry her, even if you haven't bought the ring yet.

Some people think that living together is a convenient way to find out whether or not it's worth getting married. It doesn't work that way. Living together can be hell at times even for the very best married couples, and when there's no serious commitment holding things together it just destroys the relationship (and the break-up is really, really messy).

But good luck - hope it works out for ya.
