The problem with Abel - and most of the gay DJs for that matter - is that they all play a very dated style of tribal, and they all litter their sets with Madonna, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Beyoncé, Miley Cyrus and other top 40 tunes, along with early 90s screaming diva house. Some even drop Justin Bieber tribal remixes! *pukes*

Plus they all play at 130 bpm all night, with no diversity or progression in beats or tempo in their sets. The first time you hear Abel you might be blown away. After a few sets you realize he's a one-trick pony.

For my money, you can't go wrong with Chus + Ceballos for great tribal-inflected tech house.

Also check out Antranig and Luigi Rocca.

I feel your pain on this subject. I wonder why they stopped throwing the Filthy beats down
I along with many others, still have deep passion for this style / sound. Hopefully they will return to it and soon.

I finished one of his 2005 sets @ Space & let me tell you, it's Top Shelf! imo. On my way to work last night, Vibe had me so far out there that I totally forgot where I was going & missed my Exit lol.
