Cool Den Dungen

Well, I live in Den Dungen...It's a small, very small,
sooooo small place in Holland. This is not really the
best place to live I have to admit.
I don't know what's THE BEST place to live...but the climate must be 200% better than in Holland...that's for sure!

Wink Well I say...

I'd have to say San Diego, California is the best place to live. The weather's nice, the hotties are plentiful (It was voted by Men's Health or Men's Fitness magazine - I forget which - as the fittest city in the USA) - really, what more can you ask for? I've lived here all my life and STILL don't want to leave!!!

I live in Finland which is in the northern Europe in case you don't happen to know I wouldn't exactly recommend this place for 365d/y in terms of weather, but there are lots of other good sides. Winters tend to be quite cold (-30C -> 0C) and summers are decently warm (20-30C). As the saying goes, summer in Finland is short but luckily it doesn't snow much During wintertime (Nov->Feb) days are quite short and the darkness can have a negative effect on your mood so we have to party a lot
On the other hand, there are days during summertime when the Sun doesn't go down practically at all and it's very light even at 1am at night! There's plenty of snow during the winter and more or less rain and sunshine during summer. Nevertheless, summers tend to be really nice here since it's not too hot but it's very warm anyway esp. in Helsinki because of the sea.

There are lots of lakes, forests and generally the nature is very beautiful and untouched due to fact that vast majority of the population lives at the southern and western coast.

For some reason the Finnish Tourist Board hasn't figured out yet that we should market Finland as a place where you don't get the feeling that you are being burnt by the flames of hell all the time (the heat during summertime in southern Europe, Malaysia etc. is killing!). "Welcome to the fridge - the Finnish summer". LOL! I bet the arabs, for instance, would love it.

I have travelled around Europe and one of my favorite places is Milan, Italy. I love the architecture of the city and the elegance of the people and the general look. I seem to fit pretty well in the picture there since dozens of people came up to me and started babbling italian... which I don't yet master perfectly Prague, Poland is also a very beautiful place.

However, I haven't been anywhere outside Europe and I'm looking forward to visiting the States, Caribian Islands, Australia and Japan.

If you like paying taxes, welcome to Finland!

LOL

Melbourne, Australia
best place for living
good music although most of the clubs are a bit cheesy/commercial, although the odd few are good

plus the aussie dollar's so cheap when coming from overseas countries (England, America) that you'll have shitloads of money =)

we may not be as much of a party place as Europe - but we get big names over each month pretty well. Great weather - kinda like California/southern Spain - but wayyy more laid back and easy going. Not too many cities - Sydney - if you like the big city feel, Melbourne mid size - party/arty feel, Adelaide is pretty small - easy going/party hard, Gold Coast/Brisbane/Sunshine Coast for the tropical party atmosphere
Other cities - ??

All in all - if it were closer to the rest of the world - it would be perfect!!

Hehe, gotta agree with u there
I've done a fair bit of travelling, tho not much europe & each time it's been real great...but at the end of it, u realise how damn great home is!!
I wouldn't swap Sydney for any other city in the universe! Excellent weather, no hurricanes/ tornadoes/ landslides/ floods/ mad cow disease/ volcanoes/ earthquakes/ alien abductions, beaches within 15 min drive, bushland in ur backyard, mountains within 1 hr drive & snow (for bit of the year) within 6 hour drive

Well I'm biased since I'm Icelandic but its really a one of a kind place to live I don't recommend it to foreigners, but Iceland is a wonderfull place to live for those lucky enough to be from there... Its just like living with a big family (275,000.)

But I also live in Canada, Calgary to be exact, and I would have to say that British Columbia and Calgary have to be some of the nicest places to live in all of Canada.. And considering Canada often wins the United Nations best place to live award, thats saying a lot I think

Althought I am dying to live out in Australia, Nederlands, Danmark, Sweden, Germany, Spain, Mexico, Cuba, and Costa Rica... My ideal situation would be to move to each of these countries for 6 months, who knows I might just get the chance soon

Cheers,

Thor...
